Really can’t fault this hotel. It’s in an excellent location within walking distance to the west end etc plus 2 tube stations less than 10 mins walk away. The staff (Wasim in particular) were so friendly and helpful and hotel was spotless. Only minor niggle was that our room was a bit noisy in the evening which I only noticed as I was with my 8 year old daughter so going to bed a bit earlier than usual. If you’re worried about noise maybe ask for a higher floor / room facing away from the courtyard. We’ll definitely be coming back to this hotel.

Nice hotel. Clean, rooms are not to small considering the price point. No A/C but fan provided and window opens slightly.

This hotel is entirely non-air conditioned. Now I understand this isn’t a ubiquitous thing in the UK nor do I expect it, however the design of this hotel and the type of construction of the building clearly necessitates it be installed. The build is of cavity brickwork and is clearly an older building that has been renovated with thick walls. Whatever this hotel has been made with has made the insulation extremely effective. In essence, the rooms are a SAUNA. And I cannot exaggerate or stress that point more. They give you small cheap tower fans that are nowhere near good enough. I had bags of chocolate that had completely melted at night, I had a galaxy bar that was liquid. And I had 2 nights of completely zero sleep despite the fan on and the window open. Every staff member couldn’t have cared less when I brought it up. I got a shrug and a “we have 1600 rooms we have to do our best” response. I asked to move rooms, got told no. I asked for more fans, got told no. Would genuinely never, ever, ever come back.

Great city break

Lovely stay. Clean. Only issue it was a heatwave and no air conditioning although the staff kindly left a fan in the room, however it was still stifling hot. The room, and bathroom especially, look recently refurbished, maybe upgrading the windows to double glazing and air conditioning would be the icing on the cake. Overall though would definitely stay again, just at a time of year with no heatwaves.

Great location and a pleasant room. No air conditioning which was a surprise. Rooms come with a portable fan. Definitely got warm. Other than that, clean room in lovely Bloomsbury right near the British Museum.

This was one of the most TERRIBLE, AWFUL, HORRENDOUS experiences I have ever had at a hotel, and I have been traveling around the world for decades. When we checked in, we were told they didn't take American Express, which was not clear when I made the reservation. I offered to pay in cash, and they said they didn't accept cash. The management was extremely rigid and unaccommodating. We tried to work with them, and they just kept saying, This is our policy, we can't do that. They made no attempt to work with us or try to help us. I was finally able to pay the hotel bill, but it required me to become overdrawn from my bank account by thousands of dollars. The management of this hotel has the philosophy that they are always right and the customer is always wrong. They never apologize and never compromise. They run the hotel like the government of the former Soviet Union. Another thing that went wrong was that they put us in rooms that faced a courtyard with an outdoor pub. It was extremely noisy at night, past midnight. One night, there was loud carousing from people that went well past 2:30am. The hotel allowed this and did not intervene to stop the noise. They did change our rooms the next day. The worst aspect of this hotel is that they it's all about their policies and not about the needs of the customers. This hotel does NOT deserve the rating of 4 stars and excellent.

It's those personal touches that make a memory!!

Simply fantastic!! Great location, facilities were spotless, fresh, modern and the staff were so kind and friendly. The breakfast was beautiful with so much to choose from. When booking I was asked if it was for anything special and I explained it was a surprise trip to London for my husband to celebrate our 20th Wedding Anniversary, at check in we were congratulated on our anniversary and on arrival in our room a beautiful display with fresh roses and petals adorned the bed, along with a beautiful letter wishing us many more years of laughter and love together with a complimentary bottle of wine with two glasses ... such a special touch for which we were so grateful. Thank you for making our trip to London so special and memorable x

Decent enough property. Great bathroom and nice room. The problem was the heat. There was no air conditioning. And London is currently going through a heat wave. The rooms were like little ovens. All they gave us was a small little fan, which basically did nothing. And the windows barely opened. Getting to sleep was really tough. My advice: make sure you get a room with an air conditioner. Otherwise you will suffer.

Stayed one night for a special occasion and the hotel and room were perfect. The room was absolutely spotlessly clean and well appointed with a lovely fresh bathroom ensuite. Check in super quick and they kept our luggage after checkout until early evening for no extra charge so that we didn't have to find storage elsewhere until we travelled home. Breakfast very good with all the foods you might want fresh and well presented. Only point worth noting is that there was no air con - it didn't matter for us as the weather was clement but if it was a heat wave it might be something to be aware of. However we would certainly use this hotel again, it is probabaly the best short stay hotel in this area of London in this price bracket.

VERY LOUD DOOR SLAMMING BY CLEANING STAFF

This is a great hotel in so many ways but a BIG let down and what ruined my mornings is the slamming of the doors by the cleaners. All morning from 7 or 8am till the afternoon, as they go in and out of each room to clean then allow the doors to slam behind them. It is so loud and rude, and ruins that whole 4 or 5 hour period of time. I have complained about it many times and nothing seems to change. This is why now I am writing a review. I didn't want to have to do this because it is a great hotel.

Room was very clean and had everything we wanted and the hotel is very central for walking or getting the tube. There was no air con in the room and only a fan to help cool it down, as we were there during a heatwave in July this made the room very hot, the fan helped but air con would have been nice. This is not a complaint at all, just an observation as we had stayed here before in October and the room was a perfect temperature.

Hotel was very convenient with parking on site. The room was quite small but very nice & clean with a comfortable bed. I booked a twin/double & wanted a twin but there was no option to request this. The room was setup as a double & there were no twins available. Not sure if that was the hotel or Expedia at fault!
