Uncomfortable bed, tried to charge twice

Uncomfortable bed, unpleasant air freshener smell permeated room, dated and stained table in room, chips in shower tiles. Data protection issue on second visit. Hotel emailed to say they would take payment from my card (even though payment had been made)... shocking! Breakfast good. I won't be staying again.

Staff was rude on arrival. When coming back from a night out around 10pm the front door was open and the man sitting behind the desk didn’t even acknowledge us not alone ask if we was staying there. Made us feel very unsafe. Room was very hot. a fan was provided but this was the noises fan I have ever seen. On a plus side location was good for a London break

This is a hotel where solo female travellers are welcome and can feel safe. I was there from a Fri night to a Sat morning, so it might be a bit less quiet on a weekday morning than I experienced as it is on a main road. I booked a small double, as I found the single to be too small on a prior stay and it was well worth the small extra expense.The breakfast is more than adequate, though it is a buffet with no hot options. Lots of nut milks and vegan yogurts available though, which is a bonus. I will be back if I need to stay in the area again in the future.

So went to the Bloomsbury and no room, so sent a couple of doors down to the Cavendish...room smelt, TV did not work, not tidy, broken skirting boards, radiator paint cracking, old fashioned bathroom. But I slept really well, but was OK.

Definitely not 4 star!

I’s very cheap and you get what you pay for. I had one of the single rooms and it’s big enough for one night but that’s it, no where to put a suitcase. The bed is really short, I’m just under 6 foot and my head was on the headboard and my feet touched the wall at the end. Also very hot, there is a fan but there’s nowhere to put it unless you have it right next to your head.

Friendly staff

Friendly staff. Communal areas good. Room was mostly clean. However, I barely slept due to the smell of an artificial air freshener. It wasn't located in my room but outside in the hallway (only a single door between my room and the landing). I hope to avoid this room on my next visit.

Weekend Away.

We stayed in room 305 which was at the top of the hotel. No lift, 3 flights of stairs...so if mobilly impaired then ask for a lower level. The bathroom was tiny and the door did not close , as not fitted correctly. The room was warm, there was no air con but the window opened as that was fine. It was clean and pretty comfortable. The staff were very helpful and the continental breakfast was good. It was however, perfectly situated for where we wanted to be. Pretty quiet at night. Lovely Italian restaurant and wine bar around the corner from the hotel.
