The location was beautiful. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. The three things that were not ideal for us were no tv in the room (my friend “requires” a tv to fall asleep, no coffee maker in the room (coffee and tea in the lobby, thank goodness!), and no dresser in the room (I could not get organized). We enjoyed how walkable the location is, we loved the seating overlooking the Pacific, and the valets were all amazing!

First off, the staff is absolutely amazing. I cane in in not the greatest mood and they really helped get me into a place of relaxation. I had a small issue with my room and not only did they solve the issue, but surprised me with a gorgeous charcuterie board and bottle of wine. The facilities are clean, rooms are pretty and well put together, and the area is close ro restaurants and shopping!

We’ve been staying at this property for many years and loved their upgrades this year! Rooms were beautiful and peaceful. The view from our room over the ocean was spectacular. Continued renovation is happening but it minimally affected our stay. The staff is amazing, friendly and so helpful. We will be back!

My new staycation spot!

What a fantastic place to stay. As a local, I often do staycations. This is my new spot. I love that the rooms are all about wellness. You walk in to essential oils, and the sound of the waves. In the morning, they offer free coffee in the lobby. It’s some of the best coffee I’ve ever had. My room was a corner king. I had a beautiful ocean view a beautiful terrace with two nice sun loungers. The price is very good for downtown Laguna Beach . They offer beach chairs and umbrellas as well. I recommend this hotel to anyone for any reason. I cannot wait to go back.

Friendly staff, great vibe and large clean room. It was not made clear from the listing that the ocean view balcony I paid extra for is a shared space with individual areas separated by chains outside of the rooms and not accessible without walking outside of the room. Overall still very much enjoyed the stay.

Amazing views

We enjoyed the beatiful ocean views, hot tub and easy beach access. The staff were very friendly. There were some minor issues with the heater and sofa bed but staff were attentive. Location in gorgeous and vibrant Laguna Beach can't be beat!

DO NOT STAY HERE!

We had stayed at the former Laguna Riviera for years in the past and had happy memories. It changed hands and we had no idea what we were getting into. The good is gone. DO NOT STAY here if you have any mobility issues, want safety getting to the sand, or you like a cup of coffee in your room. Besides no TVs, (not such a big deal), there are no microwaves, coffee makers, utensils or anything food friendly. Thanks to gen. mgr, Jimmy who moved us to a better room and broke the rules by bringing in a microwave and coffee maker. Otherwise, the weird idea of "sustainable" is contradicted by the need to waste food going out 3 meals a day and having nothing to eat on or with if you order out. There is a "beach fee" charge for stuff to take down to the sand. The paved downhill path to the sand ends in a sharply steep, slippery and VERY dangerous drop with no steps, and no handrail. You couldn't get there carrying anything. This was a disappointing stay and we will not return. Go elsewhere for the basic and normal comforts of a hotel at the beach.

We had a lovely room, unfortunately down a set of stairs and a steep ramp down to room 101. This was hard on our elderly knees. After looking at other available rooms we chose to stay in 101... quiet and private. However, hot water takes a significant time to reach this room, there is no TV and there are only 2 small drawers in the night-tables. The room needs a "dresser". Remarkably the wifi was strong enough to stream Amazon Prime.
