    Its like walking into a Retro Hotel in the 1980;s awesome pool area, bar and food was excellent. Rooms are a good size , 3 storeys no lifts but manageable. easy access to shops, valet parking at a reasonable rate, live music a couple nights and a sneaky speak easy. Short staffed on the front counter, and rooms cleaned every other day but linen is freshed daily. great balconies facing inwards towards the pool area. White Sands Highly recommended.

    Nice Waikiki hotel with awful valet service

    Reasonably priced hotel in Waikiki. Front desk was very accommodating but their Valet service was atrocious. Had to wait 30-45 minutes multiple times to get our vehicle and up to 30 minutes to drop off car. Valet is 3rd party and daily rate is $45 day, the valet was often understaffed. The hotel provided two drink tokens at pool bar per day and towels for pool or beach. Only 10 minute walk to Waikiki beach. Would stay there again if they fix the valet issues.

    Good vibes!

    The hotel was really cute! Kinda like 70’s Hawaii vibes. The decor was cute and the staff were very nice. The only issue was there wasn’t an elevator. There were staff to help with luggage but when we were leaving for the airport it would’ve been nice to not have to call to bring luggage down but otherwise the bar and vibes were good! I also wish there was maybe more than just a sheet and a slightly thicker sheet on the bed.

    The White Sands Hotel is one of only two remaining 1960’s Waikiki walk up hotels. I love the charm and the soul of the place. I also love the central courtyard with the tropical garden, the outdoor bar and restaurant, and the pool. I do not like more contemporary high rise hotels (recent construction) that seem sterile and plastic to me. I felt very safe as a solo woman traveler, and you can easily walk to everything that Waikiki has to offer.
