Montacute is a lovely old building but with all the modern amenities for a comfortable stay. The beds were comfortable - I loved that they were wooden and not metal like most hostel bunk beds. The bathrooms were excellent with plenty of hot water. Whole building is kept clean. I've stayed in a lot of hostels and this is definitely in my top 3!

The accommodation was comfortable, safe and convenient and the the open-style kitchen gave me a chance to meet other guests. It would have been perfect if I had my own bathroom but there were several around the place, hence not that inconvenient. Some of the bathrooms needed work (dismantled shower area), but a high level of cleanliness was visible throughout the premises and the owner did his best to make things comfortable for the guests. All in all, a great place to stay especially if you are young and don't mind hostel type accommodation.

Very well run hostel

Pros: Location - and also price.
Great location, very well organized and beautifully styled hostel. Friendly welcome. There was a little noise at nights - so not for those who require privacy.

hostel in Hobart

More than a hostel is like a little home where you can relax and share time with people there. Near the centre, you can walk every where. Nice furniture and a warm atmosphere.
