Stayed in the Female only 8 person dorm and it was great! The property is clean, there are lots of communal spaces to meet people, and it is located in a lovely area near the water/some good restaurants and bars. The owner was friendly too.

Perfectly located amongst the quaint homes of Battery park and Salamanca place. Lovely views of Mt Wellington from the comfortable rear porch. Sharing bathroom was no problem as there were plenty.

My stay at Montacute Boutique Bunkhouse was exceptional. The staff were warm, friendly, and always willing to assist, creating a genuinely welcoming atmosphere from the moment I arrived. The environment was clean, well-organized, and offered a wonderful opportunity to meet fellow travelers from around the world. It’s an excellent place to make international connections, exchange ideas, and enjoy a strong sense of community. Numerous bathrooms and showers available so there’s usually never a wait. The location is another highlight — conveniently walkable to many of Hobart’s main attractions and easily accessible via the SkyBus from the airport. The property is also family-friendly and thoughtfully designed to make guests feel comfortable and at home. Unique property!

The room was good. We had a bunkroom, with shared bathrooms, which were very clean. They had a big common kitchen, but we didn't use it.
