"Great place, perfect location."
Stayed over the New Year and were surprisingly upgraded upon arrival due the room being available. Deluxe apartment was compact but just right. Location is perfect, with supermarket next door and Brunswick St right there. Private parking a great touch, and staff member Erin was so lovely. Definitely stay again.

Park Hyatt as always met my expectations and I'd gladly recommend it to anyone. I think it's the service that sets it apart, nothing is a trouble even when I ask to change rooms due to a crying baby, they obliged without question and this was during high occupancy due to the tennis. Congratulations to all the management and staff for continued excellence. See you next time.

"Convenient location for work and city stay"
I travelled to Melbourne for a work meeting. The room & facilities were great BUT there was no table or desk and chair for me to comfortably study for my work commitment. A small table or desk with chair is needed.

"Elegant hotel close to theatre"
I appreciated the heritage in the building - the breakfast dining room is a delightful setting and food although a la carte rather than buffet style is of high standard. This hotel suited me very well as close to theatre where I saw a matinee later that day, in close walking distance to shopping venues, and I was able to have a brisk invigorating walk through the adjacent Treasury and Fitzroy Gardens early in the morning.

    Accommodation In Fitzroy

Escape from the monotony of the daily grind and get inspired by the creative atmosphere of inner-city Melbourne. Our Fitzroy hotels will give you access to one-of-a-kind nightlife, artworks, cafe culture and shopping. During the Great Depression, Fitzroy hit tough times, but this period gave birth to the unique vibe that the city is famous for these days. In the past, Fitzroy was renowned as being the stomping ground for lower-class ruffians. After a while, creative souls began to rise from the ashes of the city, and paved the way for the quirky, eclectic town we can see today. In fact, Fitzroy has become such a cool place to be that many young professionals are setting up shop here, but it's still a very artistic, creative and quirky precinct of Melbourne, and the perfect holiday destination.

If you're here in November, head to Johnson Street, to enjoy the two-day Hispanic Fiesta, with cha-cha dancing, Spanish food, flowing sangria and lots of energy. If you’d like to party during the rest of the year, the bars and pubs in Brunswick Street are very unique and among the best in Melbourne. Check out the Cider Bar and the Alchemist bar, where science meets cocktail hour. There's also a thriving live music scene here. On Tuesday nights, you can put your dancing shoes on and hit 1929 Studios, on Smith Street, for some swing dancing fun.

There are loads of galleries and art studios, the most popular being Brunswick Street Gallery. There are also plenty of murals around town and lots of street art. The Fitzroy Gardens are well-worth visiting, and are home to Captain Cook's cottage, as well as beautiful trees and flower beds.

Around every corner in Fitzroy, you can satisfy your growling stomach with organic food, gourmet meals or ethnic cuisine. If you like shopping, you'll love Fitzroy. Brunswick Street is the main shopping district in town and, conveniently, is the main cafe strip too. There are lots of vintage shops to browse, where you can pick up unique handcrafted goods. There's even an alternative music shop and an alternative book store. The Artists' Market, at Rose Street, is also great to look around, on Saturdays.

Melbourne’s Tullamarine airport is about 22km away, and you can easily get a shuttle bus or taxi to Fitzroy when your plane lands. Being so close to the city, it's easy to get to all of the other suburbs in and around Melbourne. If you're in good shape, you can walk into the city. Otherwise, it's easy to catch a bus, train or tram to, and around, Fitzroy. So for a unique holiday in the quirky heart of Melbournian art and culture, check out our cheap flights to Melbourne and book your Fitzroy accommodation today.
