Hotel is just old. Our "sitting room" smelled like urine - probably from them letting pets stay there. Air Conditioning is loud and wakes you up. It's not central air. - it's just a unit that turns on/off when it gets hot. Loud noises from the street as well. I would not recommend this hotel.

We had a wonderful stay at The Lucerne. The room was bigger than any other hotel room I've had in NYC. We also had a fridge and microwave. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly and responded immediately with any questions or requests. I would highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel was extremely clean, staff were friendly and helpful and the location couldnt be beat. Lots of great restaurants around, access to Central Park, shops, bank machine, pharmacy. Really great neighbourhood as base for holiday as it was laid back with less bustle but easy to get to sites...

The hotel was clean, quiet and easy to get to on public transportation. However, I was very disappointed that when I arrived after midnight as I called and said I would be, the bellman told me that the night mgr had gone to get dinner and I would have to wait for him to come back to check me in. Please understand it is now 2:30am. The night mgr returned about 10 mins later and asked for my ID and credit with no apology. I appreciate that it may not be typical for guest to arrive at 2:30am but I do expect an apology when I have to wait to check in despite the time of day. This small courtesy would have gone a long way at 2;30an following flight delays and detours.

The best thing about this hotel was the location. Some of the doormen were rude and not much help. Front desk was lovely. Bathroom could have been cleaner. Our room had no view although was comfortable. Expected a bit more from a room at this price point.

The Lucerne is situated in the perfect spot on the upper west side. Close to the subway on a key line, loads of restaurants and just a couple blocks to Central Park. It’s the prefect spot to enjoy all that NYC has to offer

The Lucerne has been a longtime favorite of our family though we hadn’t stayed in over a decade. The hotel was still just as beautiful and elegant as it always has been. Amazing location blocks from Central Park. Nice Matin, the onsite restaurant, remains a neighborhood staple, which is no small feat in NYC. We won’t hesitate to book again.
