No one wants a false alarm, fire alarm going off at 6.40am in the morning. The worst way to be woken up. But it was the lack of staff presence that made it worse. We were all just stood outside freezing for an eternity till someone turned up and said false alarm. The least you could do would be to offer us complimentary breakfast but nothing.

It’s a nice, historic property but rooms could use some updating. Staff were very friendly. Not a great location if your trip centers around Old Town and the Royal Mile. It’s a good value property if you don’t mind walking 15 min. to where the action is.

Wonderful staff, so nice. Off the beaten path for the hustle and bustle of the main city which I like. Cleaning staff was very kind. I was in the basement so my only issue was you could hear everyone walking above me. The bed was not that comfortable. But the room was very spacious!
