The first stay, one night, was okay, room nice n quiet, when we returned from the tour 3 days later we were put in 4051, a handicapped room with a portable air cooler that didn’t work, it was so hot, windows only opening abt an inch, noisy all night, yes we reported it to the manager!!!

For location you cannot get better than this in Edinburgh. Love the Grassmarket. Steps to Victoria Street and a 5 minute walk to Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile.

Great hotel. Little loud outside at night. It is a popular hotel and being around the grassmarket, it tends to be busy till very late through the night. Great hotel, friendly and helpful staff. I would visit again.

Crumbling grouting in the bathroom. Shower glass not installed properly, hence massive leaks. The “luxury” room was set near the lift and so you could hear every conversation held by guests passing by and, more notably, the hotel staff. Phone in the bedroom was broken. Hairs everywhere in a supposedly clean bathroom.

Apex Grassmarket is an outstanding hotel. Very nice staff that went out of there way to welcome us and make us comfortable...especially Thyna. She went above and beyond in changing our room to one with a walk in shower so I didn't have to step into a very high walled tub to shower. We had a great 4 day stay, comfortable rooms, great breakfasts and very close to the major attractions so walking everywhere was possible. A big plus is some great restaurants, pubs, shopping and a wonderful ice cream shop right across the street. We'll be back next year!!!

The hotel is perfectly located and the rooms were lovely. The check in staff person was very helpful as well as friendly. For an upscale hotel, the products in the bathroom were exceptionally meager and reminded one of staying in a Days Inn. Do better.
