Peaceful and cute boutique hotel

My friend and I stayed at The Scholar for our reunion trip. It is a lovely, small boutique hotel and everything was perfect for our stay. It's inside the Pollock Court, very quite and peaceful community.

This is a quiet and comfortable place, with very friendly staff both at reception and at the restaurant. It is quite convenient if you’re visiting the university. For tourists it is a bit far from all the attractions, but it’s well served by buses.

Delightful, quiet hotel on campus!

We loved our stay at The Scholar. Beautiful, modern, large, parking for our rental vehicle. The only thing we didn't know when we booked is that this hotel is nestled into the University of Edinburgh campus (hence the name)! Did that make me feel old as dirt? Yes. Did I love staying there? Also yes.

The room was comfortable and we slept very well for four nights. We came to attend a conference. Breakfast and dinner at the hotel's restaurant were lovely and we enjoyed the outdoor seating with the flowers and trees on the well kept grounds of the University of Edinburgh. There were plenty of good restaurants within easy walking distance, and it was easy to cath buses to the city center for sightseeing.

Wonderful Stay!!!

We stayed just one night at The Scholar with my friends, and it was honestly such a great experience. The staff were incredibly kind, attentive, and made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. The room was clean, modern, and super comfortable, everything we needed for a relaxing stay. We especially appreciated the lovely in-room amenities, like the selection of special teas! The location was also really convenient, with a bus stop right outside and quick access to the city centre. Wish we had more time there and would definitely stay again!!!!!

Aside from the fire alarm going off very early in the morning, our stay was fantastic. The staff was friendly and helpful. The area around the hotel was safe and quiet. Just be aware that it is about a 25 minute walk to the Royal Mile and other main tourist places in town.

Everything was great but the dinner. You were out Bolognese, which was the one menu item we were looking forward too that was something finally different than usual Scottish food. Got a Caesar salad instead that had little to no dressing. When I asked for more, I was brought a dish of mayonnaise. That was a joke and I regret paying for it. It was not good. We should have dined somewhere else.
