The location was the best of both parks. Best visitors center and walk to dinner. Kings Canyon was amazing. Easy trip to Sequoia hikes. The lodge was great. Loved tea and puzzles in the lobby. Nice big room with a great shower. We’ll be back.

Good location, friendly staff, I enjoy fresh cup of coffee and they seen to have it days and night. The bathroom is outdated but they come with safety mat. We stayed in the first floor and we can hear footsteps from 2nd floor plus the wall is thin. The beds are comfortable to sleep in.

Out stay was very enjoyable. However, the one item I would say kept this review from being 5 stars would be the fact that there are no comfortable chairs in the rooms and the mattresses could use replacing. All in all, it was a nice place to stay but there were also limited options. There is only one place to eat and the ordering process was automated and didn't work half the time. They also kept running out of things. I won't discourage anyone from staying here - the staff was great and the lobby had comfortable chairs to sit in. Perfectly located to see all the local places.

I was visiting John Muir Woods, which is north of San Francisco and used Expedia to search for a hotel. When the “John Muir Lodge” was suggested by Expedia I booked it. But … The “John Muir Lodge” suggested by Expedia is 260 miles away from the John Muir Woods. Granted, it’s my own fault for not being more careful but SOMEONE AT EXPEDIA should apply some common sense to their suggestions.
