This property is conveniently located between Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks. Unfortunately, because of a washed-out bridge, the detour took us through dirt roads with plenty of bumps. Because the property does not offer any elevator in the main lodge, it is tough for older folks to carry their baggage up to the main floor and the second floor. The rooms are well aged and can use some renovation. For example, the guest room door would not allow the guest to lock the door from the inside for security. Also, there are major gap in the window of the room. For the price paid, I believe the owner of the property can afford to make some upgrade to meet normal standards for lodging. Without any question, the surrounding of the property is beautiful. However, the place definitely need more than a coat of paint to make it more attractive to its customers.

Just freakin awesome!

When we drove in, it was already magical. The lake, buildings and cabins all as expected. We stayed in a Forest Cabin and it was awesome. The food was great and I love how they leave the left overs in the fridge incase you missed a meal because you were playing outside. They had a smore making campfire and the only fun we missed out on was archery with Knuckles. But next time! There were also cows wandering around. So cool. The staff was so amazing and helpful. The kitchen staff made sure we were well fed the whole time. Just an awesome, relaxing time. Can’t wait for this to be a yearly trip.

The first room was good however one of the extra doors to a hallway had duct tape covering where the door handle should have been. Critter in room while sleeping proof is due to leaving out fruit overnight only to wake up and find it eaten. Was not a big issue for me however other guests may not be as tolerant.

Montecito Sequoia Lodge is a solid 4-star experience, but it’s important to set expectations—this isn’t a luxury hotel. What it does offer is excellent value for its location inside Sequoia National Park, about 40 minutes from the park’s main attractions. The lodge provides unique perks such as complimentary access to a private lake with canoes and paddleboards. Breakfast is very good, and dinner is solid as well. Overall, it’s a great deal for those who prioritize location, activities, and value over high-end amenities.

This lodge is good for those who want to go to the Sequoia NP and Kings Canyon NP and who doesn’t want to camp. Still the facility is old and we hear many sounds from the nearby rooms. We do not have other options but the food is not good and the menu is limited. Don’t expect to get a service worthy of the price.

Great Vibes

Overall a great experience and I will definitely come back. Not so much for the lodging but the overall experience and amenities provided. I have two young children and the lodge was a great experience for them as well as my family. There were a lot of fun things for them to do around the facility and they are very thoughtful in the layout creating options for children of all ages to enjoy. Arts and crafts, lake, paddle boarding, canoeing, tennis, archery, pellet guns, you name it! The facilities were dated but that didn't matter as much to me as we did not spend that much time inside. They breakfast and options they had were great and it felt very much family oriented and friendly place.

Cozy community

I booked the lodge thinking it's 15-min away from the national parks but unfortunately for us, the main road was blocked and detour (very bumpy, thanks to our 4-wheel to get us through) took about 30-min. We're happy with the cozy place with very reasonable price and full of services. We really appreciated the snack and tea/coffee bar opened freely all the time. Buffet was legitimate. Next time we will probably prepare swimsuits to enjoy jacuzzi and the pool, as well as kayaking and the lake nearby. It's very community-oriented with public activities, everyone can find something to do during their stay.

This property is overpriced and in need of major upgrades. They are understaffed. In addition the main entrance road is closed and requires taking a mostly gravel and pot hole filled road in the back way. Would not recommend this place.
