The staff were very friendly and the room was clean. The only complaint was that the AC unit was exposed, and it looked like the air filter had never been changed. There was a layer of dust/lint on the wall directly outside the unit.

The room was spacious just outdated. The tv wouldn’t work which was annoying but we didn’t have a long stay or a lot of extra time so wasn’t the end of the world. Area was convenient. Nice place just an older hotel.

My husband and I stayed at the Atheneum 2 nights for a concert and had a nice stay. The hotel staff were very nice and accommodating. We shuttled everywhere with the complimentary shuttle which was a great service. Our room was spacious and comfortable bed, with a nice desk for the little bit of work I needed to do. Loved having the Atheneum as our landing spot in Detroit.

The staff was really helpful and friendly. Our room had issues with the bathroom that resulted in us having to switch rooms late in the evening, but the staff handled it quite well. My one complaint is that the TVs could use some upgrades. There's no way to use their TVs for anything but watching cable. No streaming services of any sort and you can't connect any devices either.
