    Accommodation In Southwest

Diversity is what you’ll find in the South West. This corner of Western Australia has all kinds of natural landscapes, from rolling hills to rugged beaches to national parks filled with wildflowers. You can whale watch, shipwreck dive, bushwalk, drink wine, and road trip through historic towns. See just how much variety WA has and find the holiday you’re looking for with our South West hotels.

Western Australia is a big state and the South West covers about 23,970 square kilometres. One of its most famous features is the Bibbulmun Track, a 1000km bushwalk that leads from Kalamunda to Albany. You can explore the South West section from Denmark to Albany with a coastal walk. It’s 85km to go the whole way, but even exploring part of it will lead past dramatic coastal cliff and beach views. Chances are you’ll want to take a break and have a swim too!

As well as the beach, WA’s South West is also well-known for its towering forests. The Walpole Nornalup National Park is home to many red tingle trees, which don’t grow anywhere else in the world, can reach up to 75 metres tall and sometimes live for up to 400 years. Check them out as you explore the forests and wetlands, or for a better view visit the Valley of the Giants, where a steel-truss Treetop Walk allows you to wander the canopy. If you find wildflowers more exciting, visit the Stirling Range National Park. Over 1000 varieties bloom there in spring. You can also rock climb at Ellen Peak or tackle the six-kilometre trail to the top of Bluff Knoll, where you’ll experience 360 views of the surrounding countryside that stretch to the ocean on a clear day. Bluff Knoll is one of the only places in Australia to experience snow, although in the warmer months you’ll probably just come across flowers.

Bunbury is the biggest regional city in WA and a place where you can swim with dolphins at Koombana Bay or check out the shopping or bars in town. The rest of the South West is full of suburbs with historic vibes. Bridgetown has wineries galore, a colonial town centre with cafes and pubs and the state’s longest river: the Blackwood. In Pemberton, you can hike, canoe or take a ride on a vintage tramway, while Collie has the Wellington Dam, a popular swimming spot, as well as historic attractions like the Steam Locomotive Museum.

If you want more wine, it’s hard to go past a visit to the Margaret River Wine Region, which is one of Australia’s largest wine-growing regions. For excellent whale-watching opportunities though, head to Geographe Bay, or to explore the shipwreck of the HMAS Perth, don’t miss Albany. Wherever you go across Western Australia’s South West, you’ll be amazed by the gorgeous sights.

To get started on your adventure, book a flight to Perth and your South West WA accommodation with us. Before you know it, you’ll be hooked on WA and ready to explore the rest of the state.

The hotel was comfortable and we could walk to most places. The restaurants were within a 10min walk. the bad thing our room was on the first floor and over the restaurant and it was noisey in the early morning when the deleverys were made. The view from it was lovely.

    Vasse Highway, Yeagarup - Map
The stay at Karri Valley overall was good. Location is excellent and given the age of the property it is maintained well and definitely has a relaxed feel to it. We (7 of us) stayed in a 3 bedroom chalet - there is room enough for 7 however the facilities within the chalet itself, as advised to reception on checkout, needs some work. There isn't enough cutlery and crockery for 7 people, there isn't enough seating for 7 people. I normally request a 'quiet room' everywhere I travel, and on this occasion I didn't ... and I wish I did! The chalet was directly opposite the reception and restaurant and after a long day of 4WD'ing quiet and rest is well valued. Would I stay again? - yes, but with some tweaks.

"Great hotel right on the main street"
We had a lovely 2 night stay at his hotel, along with friends who were attending a wedding in town. The staff were lovely, and catered well for our 2 yr old daughter at the cafe, getting her a plastic cup and chatting with her every time we visited. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms are more than adequate, the King size bed was awesome! The airconditioner struggled a little, however we were there on a 35 degree day, pretty rare for pemberton. The shower tended to flood as the waste drain hasn't been located ideally (obviously it's been renovated since the original pipework was installed). but we had plenty of towels and floor mats to soak it up. We had a lovely little verandah overlooking the main street and forest beyond. There was a small fridge big enough for all our of drinks and snacks. We would definitely recommend to friends and visit again.
