The attendant at the desk when we arrived was incredibly helpful, and friendly and he made us feel very welcome. The room was exactly as described and pictured. It was clean, it was very spacious and had a great view of the ocean. We only had one nigh there, I wish we could have stayed longer.

The location is great and very close to the beach, but our experience had some issues that made the stay uncomfortable, especially as we were traveling with a toddler. Shortly after check-in, the floor in our room was wet and our toddler slipped and fell. When we mentioned this, the response we received was dismissive rather than apologetic. The TV cable was also not working and was never resolved during our two-night stay, and we were told the hotel was sold out when we asked about changing rooms. What was most disappointing was the way the situation was handled at the front desk. When we tried to express concerns calmly and asked for a manager, we were not given escalation information and were spoken to in a way that felt unprofessional. Because of this, we chose not to push the issue further during the stay. The hotel has potential due to its location, but better attention to room readiness, safety, and guest communication—especially for families with children—would make a big difference.

Staff was great. The room was clean. We had 2 queen beds and our room was towards the back of the property. We had a good ocean view. The glass sliding door was hard to open and close. The room was dated (single pane windows etc) but furnished nicely. To get to the beach you must walk down the road and over a bridge. We did it every day. We enjoyed our stay and hope to return.

Definitely did not meet my expectations, but I also got what I paid for in this area. Highly recommend getting an ocean view room, if you don’t you will be getting a tiny room. Don’t bother considering this a “breakfast.” It’s processed pastries, cereal and waffles. Look for other options in the area and expect to pay a little more for a better experience. I was just hoping for a bit nicer hotel. The staff was exceptional and incredibly kind and professional!!

There were only seven cars in the underground parking. It seems as though the guests could have been separated so that no one was in the room above us. Perhaps if we had more considerate neighbors, I would have rated the property higher. Every footfall from the people in the room above ours was clearly heard. There were continuous footsteps from 9:00 p.m. to 12:45 a.m. Luckily, there was a lull until 3:25 a.m., then they started again, off and on until 5:00 a.m. I figured there would be outside train noise and traffic, but the noise from upstairs was much more intrusive. We could even hear them talking to one another. The room and sheets were clean. Although the water pressure was like a light rain, the shower was immaculate. The mirror in the bathroom was quite low. I am only 5'9" and had to bend my knees to see my whole face.

This is our second time here. We got the same room. View cannot be beat for the price but it is an older hotel that could use some updating. The mold in the bathroom is a problem. Location is excellent, check in is super easy and it was very quiet. Parking is plentiful and safe.

The only thing going for this place is the location and the size of the rooms. When we checked in there was no shower curtain and then they sent someone up and it barely went low enough so u didn’t get water everywhere. There was black mold in the shower. The bed was hard as a rock and the policies were flat. (so glad I brought my own). If you want cheep ocean view room this is your place but if you can pay a little more for a better place

Loved the area. Close to San Juan Capistrano. Great view, I think no matter what room you pick all rooms face the beach. Staff was helpful and had fast response. Will definitely come again.
