Check in was really poor, slow and unfriendly staff. Breakfast was a complete shambles!!! Nothing was ready everywhere was a mess just not great at all!

The hotel was beautiful and excellent staff on arrival great location for train station and shops Unfortunately after an evening out we arrived back at hotel and waited patiently at bar whilst staff stood and moaned about other colleagues with not very desirable language we then tried to order a cocktail but were told they didn’t serve them after 10 even though we had been stood there from 9.55 so tip for everyone the Moxy sell beautiful cocktails till 1am the next morning the cleaners where very pleasant as was the lady at checkout breakfast was a little chaotic but got there in the end

Brilliant hotel in Chester, close to main areas and the river walks. Lovely room & bathroom with a good shower. All the staff were super friendly and efficient. Breakfast was great with lots of choices. Highly recommended!

The hotel and room were very good but the service was poor. Upon arrival we were left waiting to check in as 3 members of staff were chatting. Last night my fiancé and I returned from a wake we had been to and went to the hotel bar around 8.30pm. The tall thin young gentleman on the bar was so rude. As he approached us he looked at me and said “yes”. Not how are you, good evening, what would you like or even yes please. Upon ordering he dropped the payment machine in the bar, I tapped it and he picked it up without a please or thank you. This followed 5 minutes later when we ordered a bar snack of chips and bread. He brought the food out with no cutlery, no napkins and the garlic and rosemary mayo never appeared. We have stayed at your hotel before and enjoy the location but the service this time was poor. What a great place to stay. Staff were incredible, cheery, polite and very helpful. Room was spacious, had everything we needed including free cookies! Location was perfect, short stroll to train station and short stroll to the main street. Would highly recommend.

Generally speaking, everything was excellent. My only criticism would be the weight of the duvet in our bedroom which was extremely heavy and we also found the mattress to be quite hard. Fully appreciate that these aspects do come down to personal choice however neither of us got a particularly good nights sleepand that is my reason for giving comfort only three stars.
