We liked this hotel. The location was good - easy walk into town. We were happy to eat breakfast and dinner in the on site restaurant. Food provided on the hotel was good. The hot buffet breakfast was lovely as was the staff working the days we were there. The parking was easy and the day rate during the week was 13.00 GBP which was reasonable compared to what we paid elsewhere. Our room was spacious and had everything we needed. I would stay at this hotel again.

Expensive for dogs

Check in at 4pm was chaos - almost queuing out of the door, however the staff were very helpful when we eventually got to them. Our parents had a lovely room, however our ‘dog friendly’ room was very small & basic which was disappointing as there ia an additional charge of £50 per night for dogs! The cooked breakfast was very good & the location is good being directly opposite the train station.

Arrived prior to check in time , we knew room would’ve ready which wasn’t a problem. Able to leave luggage behind reception. Parking was payable when leaving your car, just scan the QR code at the machine. Able to sit in the bar and watch the comings and goings at Chester Rail station which is directly opposite the hotel. The bus stop for local buses & the hop on hop off bus tour of Chester is out of the hotel and to the left, literally a minute walk. Once checked in (our room was 1705) which is on 7th floor of the newer part of the hotel. My only gripe is there is only 1 lift and it was very slow. Great artefacts on display everywhere. Room was decorated very well, large bed and separate bath and shower. Some of the sealing at the bottom of shower could do with some attention, but apart from that there were no problems. Breakfast was very good, plenty of choice. We ate dinner in the restaurant on the Sunday night which had plenty of choice and was delicious. I would recommend booking dinner though. We were informed we would t need to book as wasn’t very busy, however when we went to eat we were turned away as we hadn’t booked. They did fit us in though eventually. Sunday night we had drinks in the bar. My tipple is a NZ Sauvignon Blanc but only able to purchase a bottle as they didn’t sell it by the glass, disappointingly they had none chilled. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Lovely, clean hotel. The suite room was gorgeous; the only downside was its location on the first floor. We could hear/feel vibrations from the lounge bar's music from 6:00 to 6:30 AM. We could hear it late at night, but that didn't bother us. Room service was good just took us a little time with the numbers but this was quickly seen to. Overall a lovely hotel.

On arrival the room was not an executive room the air con control wouldn't respond due to wear,also the lights in the shower were faulty & the final straw was the safe didn't operate. On complaining the Manager move use to a suite which was exceptional but the only criticism of the suite was a 7 in the morning the downstairs speakers from the restaurant were clearly heard in the room I suppose the £5M upgrade forgot that small item of sound proofing. I certainly would have expected a refund having paid for that room but this is for people that would worry about a lie in otherwise the staff were excellent. Thank you to the person on duty for sorting it out.
