I stayed at Riu Baja Adults Only April 15th- 20th 2025. My overall experience and stay was great! However booking through Expedia was not so great. This was the first time I ever booked a trip and transportation was not included. The relaxation mood I was in, instantly left my body and switched into panic mode. I started walking around asking all the drivers for the buses if we were on their list for transportation to the resort and they all said no. And then finally one assistant said transportation is only included if you book directly through the hotel. I wish Expedia made that clear somewhere in the booking. I spent $200 USD for transportation. Besides that, the Riu was nice. The hotel was clean, the staff were great and so was the service. A few things I would like to point out is that the main lobby could be upgraded. It didnt really give me the ouuuu ahhh type of feeling by glance. By improving the lobby it could set a better vacation vibe and initial experience for the guests. As for the rooms. We booked the junior suite with a king bed. It was nice. Nothing too fancy. The room had its own private toilet area, 1 soaking tub, 1 shower, 2 sinks. As an Adults-Only Resort, it could be a little more romantic. The balcony was small but was super quiet at night. I loved it. We also upgraded our room to the Elite Club just to try it out. Please don't spend the extra money if you

It was a beautiful hotel and the food was very very good. But the you book with a third party, like Expedia, they don’t want to honor any of your credits. Expedia says we have $630 USD per room,, but we were only allowed to use $200 USD maximum as a $15 coupon toward a $290 spa service. So you will have to end up spend more to use the “hotel credit “! We talked to the hotel and the they told us to talk to Expedia, Expedia said they called and spoke to the hotel, but we got the answer “it was their policy “. So do fall for that trap!

Pros: Loved all the dining options, quality of the martinis, and the cleanliness of the report. People staying there were so nice and friendly. Cons: Beach is not for swimming unforch, there was no juice for drinks (only syrup mixes, so wasn't able to have my usual vodka, soda pineapples while there), and there was one day we had to ask staff 5x over the day for things we needed addressed in the room that they kept missing. Overall: As long as you can overlook not swimming at a real beach, I would recommend staying at this resort.

This was our first time staying at this property, we went with friends who had stayed here previously. Beautiful property, great food options, staff was friendly and helpful. The only issue we had was the air conditioning and everyone in our group had the same problem where the rooms wouldn’t go under 21°C. Our friend who stayed here before never had this issue so I think it was a fluke definitely still recommend giving it a try.
