We love the Charles for proximity to the river/races. Rooms are nice and very comfortable. Prices are very steep but head of the Charles weekend is much pricier than usual. Thermostats in room were not responsive. Drafty windows. Chilly overall. Free breakfast?? Never got, never offered even when I cked.

A hotel of this calibre should have an in room fridge. I missed having cold water the whole time. I know you can call for ice, but that is not convenient. Also, the A/C did not ever catch up to what I set it to. Front desk should warn guests about the conserving power switch at the room door. Wasted a lot of our time trying to figure this out and would take 1 second to explain! Other than that, beautiful hotel and quiet room!

I had lost my suit pants ($1000 suit). It is still missing. It is my working business suit and I find this very inconvenient. It’s not about money but trust in the service in the hotel. I really enjoyed my stay at the Charles. Initially, they gave me a connecting room. In the adjacent room, apparently there was a dog as he barked frequently. I asked especially for a quiet room and was really upset that i was put in a room next to a barking dog. Then, I called them and they immediately moved me a much quieter room. From there on, the stay was smooth and enjoyable. Thanks.
