The Point Brisbane – Hotel

"Hotel well placed"
Arrived on time and checked . Staff helpful and the concierge was great. The room was comfortable with a separate bedroom which could have been a bit on the tight side if two people were trying to move around in it simultaneously. I had to leave early in the morning and checkout was straightforward and again the staff were very helpful in organizing a taxi.

"Great Location"
This hotel was well located on the Brisbane River. You could catch a free ferry to the city and Southbank. Public areas were excellent with a useful array of shops and cafes nearby. The one bedroom apartment was clean although some of the fittings could be updated or replaced.

I only stayed one night. Staff were very attentive and willing to assist. Car park was a bit tight for a large vehicle not helped by a truck parked in the front of the drive.

"Simple and convenient "
I booked this hotel last minute as my original accommodation booking for elsewhere fell through. Bridgewater wasn't anything too fancy, but was very convenient and practical with the bonus of a great view over the river and into the CBD. Downside is the noise from the elevated road is quite loud as the windows aren't double glazed.

"Very handy to the wedding venue we attended"
We finally worked out the code and how to operate it ! We were disappointed that the airconditioning was not working properly. And the remote for the TV did not work. It would be nice to have a little milk in the fridge for that first cuppa on arrival, we had travelled a long way. However, we found a shop within walking distance which was fantastic. Loved the layout and the location and the view. Overall it was just what we needed for our quick stay. We would highly recommend this style of accommodation to others. Great experience, and should we need to do a trip like this again we will certainly be looking to stay at this accommodation again. We have recommended it to our rural friends.

"Smelly Room and Expired Wi-Fi"
The room has a strong kitchen smell. It badly needs some cleanup & air fresheners. For WiFi, they use a voucher system. Unfortunately the vouchers they gave you have already expired. I asked them three times & got three invalid vouchers. At the end of the day, I just gave up.

"Clean, functional and all you need."
The hotel is well situated close to restaurants and the city. It's on a busy road but we had rooms at the rear so it was fine - I would imagine rooms in the front would be a bit noisy. The lady in reception was very pleasant and helpful - nice to be greeted by pleasant people.

    Pocket Guide: Kangaroo Point

Going to Brisbane? There are plenty of great locations to choose from. But if you want somewhere inner-city, close to shopping and nightlife and with a good view to boot, Kangaroo Point is a winner. There are plenty of places to stay in this area no matter what you’re looking for, so save by booking your Kangaroo Point accommodation with us.

Brisbane is Queensland’s capital and Australia’s third largest city. Kangaroo Point is directly east across the river from the Central Business District, and from your Kangaroo Point hotel it’s easy to walk or catch the bus or ferry to the rest of the city. Check out Queen Street Mall’s Myer Centre and fashion outlets, Fortitude Valley’s nightclubs and the diverse restaurants and culture at South Bank. Kangaroo Point is famous for its heritage-listed cliffs, which overlook the river. From the top you can find not only marvel at the view of Brisbane but also walk, cycle, picnic or take advantage of the BBQ facilities. Give your muscles a workout with a rock climb or conquer your fear of heights by abseiling down the cliff. For a more relaxing experience, take a kayak ride down the river. Just make sure you don’t fall in!

One of the area’s most well-known landmarks is The Story Bridge, which connects Kangaroo Point to the uber-trendy suburb of New Farm. The heritage-listed steel cantilever bridge was opened in 1940 and still carries cars, pedestrians and cyclists across the river. The bridge lights up at night and makes for an impressive view as you sip a beer at a riverside bar or charge down the Brisbane River on a ferry. Those who crave a closer look can take an adventure climb to the top. Kangaroo Point has a number of restaurants and fast food places around Main Street and Lytton Road, and you won’t have to go far for a night out: Story Bridge Hotel is tucked under the iconic bridge and has beer, steak and casual dining. Pineapple Hotel opened in 1864 and is still a popular place for dinner, drinks or a function. Brisbane Jazz Club is right next to the water and features live jazz every Thursday to Sunday.

Kangaroo Point is close to the major highways leading to both the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast. So once you’ve experienced what the Point has to offer, wot’s stopping you seeing the rest of Brisbane? Book your Kangaroo Point hotel with us and hop to it!
