Make sure that you get the right side of the road - the postcode is the same for the hotels on both the northbound and southbound carriageways. Was a useful stop off on our way for an early start in Southampton

Well, you get what you pay for so wasn’t expecting the ritz but the hotel is actually quite run down. It’s got an awful smell of damp and our room was dirty, I question whether our room was even cleaned before we checked in because it was full of rubbish. The staff are not friendly at all. I went to the front desk in the early hours to get some snacks for my toddler as he was hungry but could not walk across the road to the service station as my daughter was still sleeping. The card machine was not working so I suggested paying on check out but I was told I could not take the items without paying, despite my child crying. I mean, it was £3’s worth when they could surely just charge it to the card I paid for the room with, not one million pounds. Luckily I had enough change in the room. The rooms are battered, falling apart. I just wish I paid extra for a better quality hotel.

Pretty run down hotel with a strong damp smell. The water was tepid and the bathroom fixtures have seen better days. The bed was comfortable though and the kids liked the biscuit selection.

Very simple - and cheap - accommodation when the family had to break a journey. The rooms were clean and importantly quiet. No luxury but a comfortable clean beds in a quiet room. Perfect for a nights rest.

Same postcode for both directions

Only issue with this hotel is it’s the same postcode for north bound and south bound so need to double check as you can’t just rely on postcode to get you to the correct side as we found out and the customer behind us

not bad but ...

We were greeted by a lovely lady who was very fond of dogs. She was embarrassed to inform us that there was a charge of £ 15 for our dog. No mention of this on the booking for!!! The room was ok except for the chip on the floor and by the skirting board, which looked like a bogey! The beds were low and fairly uncomfortable. However, I suppose you get what you pay for.

Pleasant stay.

Very friendly and professional member of staff on reception. Entrance area attractive because of flower planters. Comfortable bed and good amenities. Tiling in the bathroom very poor, giving rundown appearance.

Very disappointing stay – won’t be returning

We booked four rooms at this hotel and unfortunately had a really poor experience. The first room had a broken bed as soon as we entered. The second room smelled awful, and despite complaining, we weren’t moved until the following morning — which meant staying the night in a stinking room with a child. To make things worse, the windows had been left open, so we were constantly dealing with flies in the room. The corridor also smelled bad, which made the entire area feel unclean. The other two rooms were slightly better, but even they had strong unpleasant smells. When we raised these issues with reception, we were told the hotel was fully booked and there was nothing they could do, which felt dismissive and unhelpful. Honestly, it was a really bad experience overall, and I would definitely not book here again.

Comfy, large bed, quiet room and nice staff.

Grateful there was a member of staff in the office to check me in close to 2 am. No Days Inn spaces left so parked in main car park, only a little further away and well lit. After a long day I needed peace and quiet and got these from room 5 at the back of the building. All on one floor so no stairs to negotiate in my sleepy state. Glad I added an hour onto my check out time; leaving at midday and only £10 extra. Took the discounted offer of paying £7.50 for £10 worth of breakfast items at either McDs or Costa as the services prices are higher than a local McD and Costa. The friendly lady cleaner and man manager tried to help fix the stuck bath button, so had a refreshing shower instead. I would stay at Days Inn North again as the price is good too.

Sat nav sent us to the wrong side, staff checked where we should be and directed us to the short cut. The staff are lovely in both the hotels and couldn’t do enough for us. The hotel could do with a bit of updating and refreshing but we understand this is happening so we look forward to our next visit as we have family nearby.
