Airport shuttle was great coming as the driver lifted my bags but going to the airport the driver couldn’t do the bags into the back of the bus The dinner of nachos with cheese sauce was cold and Tesco value crisps which cost me £9 and the chicken ceaser salad with grilled chicken was a fatty thigh and terribly mushed salad for £15 , the breakfast was not great either , the bed was lovely and comfortable and nice hot bath , however no fridge in the room or thermostat to adjust , my room was next to the elevator which was noisy all night with travellers

Maggie on reception is an asset to the team so friendly and smiling face. The only thing I would suggest is that guests are advised they need to tap room card to get lift to work. We had a bit of fun initially. Shuttle service excellent thank you

My stay at the Clayton Hotel began poorly with a very disappointing check-in involving two front desk staff, one a night supervisor/manager. Fortunately, things improved after that, and overall my stay was reasonably good. The room was basic: no mini-fridge, no facial tissues, no shower cap, and one missing light bulb that hadn’t been replaced. It served its purpose, but some extra attention to detail would make a difference. The hotel is clearly very busy, yet many staff work extremely hard. A highlight was in the breakfast restaurant, where a lady kindly arranged a fresh fruit salad for me after learning I’m intolerant to pineapple — something I greatly appreciated. Special mention also goes to Zoran and Maggie at the front desk, who were kind and professional, and helped improve my impression after the rocky start. One disappointment was the Expedia VIP Access programme. At this property, it felt more like a marketing tool than a real benefit, as I noticed no meaningful perks. Overall, while the hotel itself is basic and VIP benefits underwhelming, the kindness and professionalism of several staff members made my stay reasonably good.

Enjoyable stay

My first stay at the Clayton Hotel, room was nice and clean, bathroom was clean too, easy check in on line with just having to pick up key . Got a wake up call to ensure I didn't miss my flight. Very impressed with restaurant, lovely staff, excellent service and my steak meal was cooked to perfection. Can certainly recommend The Clayton Hotel and will be staying again
