Have stayed here many times, was told pub was being refurbished and so closed, which would of been fine if I had of been notified. I was told on check in that I should have recived an email via Expedia. I didn't... I didn't, because I booked via Hotels.com which was £12 cheaper than booking via the Bull's Head website. No apology was offered, no complimentary warm drink from the make shift hotel bar (room service only) behind reception. Took my cash and no change guven as they didn't have any, so paid £1.70 more than was invoiced. Again no apology. Room had all pub meus still displayed in the room, no one bothered to remove them. Bathroom smelt of stale urine. Toilet didn't flush. On a postive the shower was good and powerful. Room was cold, and electric heater was off. Stripped the sheets and duvet was stained. Room looked tired. Breakfast was pre order inter continental. It arrived on time but every thing was processed and dry. Binned everything and bin bag split covering floor in rubbish and left over breakfast. Asked for a late check out as a gesture of good will and was told this would not be possible unless I paid. Asked for manager Nicky Lee but was presented with Carl, unkempt and rude. I was staying for a family funeral and clearly visibly upset, but Carl was unempatheric. This used to be a nice place to stay in Hale Barns, but no more. Corporate greed is now their objective rather than pleasing the guest.

Chose the hotel as close proxity to workplace. I'm a bit picky when it comes to room standards and this hotel met them, pleasant to the eye, bathroom clean and modern. Amazingly comfortable bed and pillows. Tea, coffee section was well stocked and premium quality I did choose this hotel based on the promise of great meal in the restaurant but this was closed for refurb, so hotel.com need to modify this photo set at this time Breakfast was selected the night before and delivered to the room, but was limited to non cooked items, but was good enough for me Staff were very helpful and despite my mini moan about the restaurant i will stop there again due to the room standard and if the refurb matches this, this will be a cracker of a hotel that I'd happily recommend to friends and family

The check in staff helpfully arranged breakfast to be delivered to my room as I had to leave before service began in the pub; and the morning staff quickly arranged a taxi when I realised that the Saturday bus times were different than weekdays.
