Lovely respite. Comfortable cottage with three beds (two bedrooms) and one bathroom, plus view of a picturesque pastoral scene: a field of green grass, white fence, a friendly dog who politely asks to play ball if you like (and leaves you alone if you don’t), and the occasional mooing of the cows in the distance.
There’s WiFi in the house if you need it (no WiFi in cottages) but it’s the kind of place where it’s a good idea to unplug.
I enjoyed making a cup of coffee first thing in the morning, opening the door and listening to the birdsong and rustle of the wind in the leaves.
It’s a bit of a drive to central Williamsburg, (with a current construction traffic along the way) but we found it was fine. It’s mostly rolling hills and green trees, with a glimpse of bike paths peeking out of the forest. The drive serves as a liminal space, moving you from the busyness of the day to the peaceful rest at the end.
Beautiful accommodations, conveniently located to Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown along with great restaurants and shopping! Highly recommend!!
Beautiful property and close to everything you want to do in the historic triangle. Not really a typical bed and breakfast though; no home-cooked breakfast in the morning, but instead cold cereal, muffins, and coffee. A lot of the online reviews raved about the delicious breakfast, but apparently the owners grew weary of making breakfast each morning and resorted to a continental breakfast instead. We were a little disappointed with that, but we were staying in the Jefferson cottage, so we just went out and bought our own microwavable breakfasts for the week. The cottage was wonderful and we loved the fireplace and whirlpool tub. Overall it was a wonderful stay, and the perfect place for our honeymoon.
Farmhouse B&B with an friendly and interesting host, what’s not to like. Location is also very convenient to all the attractions and services that Williamsburg has to offer.
