It was a nice hotel overall. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was generally clean, but the floors were a little sticky and sandy when we arrived. Beds and pillows were very comfortable and the shower pressure was great. However, there were tiny ants in the room. Given we were way up on the 9th floor I'm guessing it might be a whole hotel issue and even possibly an entire Virginia Beach issue that may be difficult to control. We let the staff know and they left us a can of Raid. Not sure if they did any other treatment as we were out to dinner when they came up to the room. I sprayed the perimeter of the room but still saw a few more ants two days later. It was often too hot in the lobby and at breakfast. AC didn't feel on down there. On our first full day, the maid service had finished our corner of the floor before we left the room (around 10:20) and never circled back. I had to ask them for more towels and washcloths at the other end of the hall when we came back. Continental breakfast was good, but the food, plates, and silverware weren't replenished often enough. Often had to wait 5-10 min for the next tray of scrambled eggs, etc. to come out. Fire alarm didn't ring on every floor. This may be nitpicky, but instead of attached right on the wall next to the toilet, the TP was attached to the vanity which was quite a stretch away. The toilet wasn't fully attached to the floor. You could feel it wobble as you leaned for the TP. We then held the TP before we sat.

Pros: helpful staff, great location, comfortable beds, and cleanliness. Cons: the breakfast is overly crowded; lines are the norm. The pancakes and fruit were frozen. The room pictured on the website was not what we received and the hotel was not able to move us. Note: first time to VA Beach and there is no boardwalk with shops/restaurants, the air force base sends planes/jets on training exercises every 5-10 minutes starting early morning — very loud, and dining options are mixed and over priced.

The View is worth it... the room, not so much...

You're paying for the view! Which is worth it but... the room booked through Hotels.com is usually not the best one available at hotel. It's almost like they have certain rooms set aside only for Hotels.com reservations. Other guests we talked to said booking directly through the hotel is the best way to go.

Every one of the staff was wonderful! Especially the front desk and the valet. So friendly and willing to help! Slight issue with our room, balcony, but rectified right away. The hotel cannot control this – but the amount of people eating and leaving their garbage from breakfast was bad. It was hard for them to keep up.

Property is modern, clean and in a great location. I traveled with family different age ranges and there were plenty of food options close by and within a 20 minute drive. We were steps from the beach. Only downside, would’ve loved a hot tub/sauna. There were just two pools one inside and one outdoor, which gets pretty crowded after 11:00 am. The valet option was great, all of the employees were nice and helpful.

Very pet friendly, great location, room was spacious with a nice balcony. The staff is friendly and attentive. I would definitely stay here again! Only critiques are that the pool is small and the breakfast is not great and they don’t have iced coffee. Still a great place to stay right on the beach.

Highly recommend

Great staff. I really enjoyed my stay. Everybody was so helpful. The only minor issue i had was the organization of the valet area. A guest was loading up his car and blocking everyone in. Not the hotels fault but just a selfish person

Dog friendly oceanfront hotel

Very dog friendly beach front hotel. Rooms were a great size with good amenities. This is probably the slightly quieter end of the boardwalk which was great for us
