Check in staff were incompetent. Foyer very small to check in. could be chaotic. Breakfast room not very clean. Limited menu for West. Air con. Ok. but very small room so stuffy. no evening meals. not much room for your belongings. No rails for towels.

Onsen was clean and maintained well. No gym. Laundry takes time to dry (took us more than 1 hour with separated clothes) and many lints attach to clothes. Washers are detergent-free I believe using alkaline water, which I can attest works! Odor and grime gone. Rooms were sufficient but tight. Service and cleanliness were excellent! Checking in and out is a breeze. Also, on your check-out day, you can still leave your luggage in the hotel the whole day if you plan to travel around more. No wonder many recommend Apa for first time visitors.

The indoor public bath was a perk, since the September weather in Tokyo was very rainy. The hotel rooms are pretty small (expected), but there was still a fully functional shower/tub, mini fridge and tv, in addition to our two twin beds. The elevator had a fair bit of congestion, but not much could be done about it (there were three). Less than a 10 minute walk to Shinjuku station made this a winner. There is a lovely park around the corner, plenty of convenience stores and small spots to grab a bite.

Good location. Tiny rooms with minimal space to keep bags for two people. Hard to manage the times in the room however we spent very little time in the room and so it didn’t effect us to much. Good bed to crash out on with the jet lag too. Busy hotel so hard to move in the elevators when trying to get back up to the room or to check out as everyone is in the small lifts at the same time
