Room itself is well appointed and service was good. But two main drawbacks were that the gym is terrible (has only few cardio machines and a chest machine) and the door to the rooms allows ALL hallway noise to be heard in the room. There were lots of screaming children during my stay and it seems like you can hear even muffled conversations. So very disruptive for sleeping.

Located in the heart of Ginza, it is a great spot to explore the Ginza area. The staff was very nice and helpful. The room was well appointed, but seemed very small compared to the other places we stayed at during this trip. The bathroom was nice, like most hotel bathrooms we saw, compared to similarly priced hotels in the US. The breakfast buffet was nice, but our other stays had more options. Would have liked few more options for pure vegan/vegetarian folks. But they were very accommodating and prepared a special soy meat item for my wife. Will definitely stay again in the future. But may ask for a little bigger room if were staying more than one night. It is also located close to the imperial palace, something we got to walk around during our brief stay.

All the comfort of a top brand hotel but with a cosy and friendly feel. Everything was great. Breakfast was excellent and were other meals. The room was comfortable with quality fixtures. The staff all helpful, professional and friendly. Steps from all the stores of Ginza plus many small authentic (some under the railway arches) restaurants. Close to subway and taxis available all the time. A perfect spot for a stay in Tokyo.

Room nice, clean, reasonable size for Tokyo. Loved the bar in reception and the cocktails were reasonably priced with lovely attentive staff! Main issue is that the cheap rooms are on the same Side the trains leave Tokyo station. I enjoyed seeing the shinkansen come and go, but we were on the highest floor of the “cheaper rooms” and you could still hear them a little. They obviously don’t run 24/7 and honestly they didn’t wake us, but I was surprised we could hear them at all. The location is however absolutely excellent. You’re in the heart of Ginza, a two minute walk to Muji and super close to Tokyo station too. There’s a subway station literally 5 steps walk from the hotel exit. We didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment I’d stay again, though I’d be aware of the train track noise in the cheaper rooms

Check-in/Check-out: This was very straightforward and quick. The staff made it very easy to get checked in and out smoothly. Location: The location is less than a minute from a train which was great to get around when we needed to. It was also close to a lot of fun shopping areas, places to eat, and not too far of a walk from a great park. Room: The room was spacious for Tokyo for sure. Plenty of space, the bathroom was awesome, and we had no problems making ourselves at home. It was very clean and when it was cleaned it was spotless all over again. Staff: The staff was very helpful. We asked for recommendations on places to eat and they gave us great suggestions. I also asked ahead of time about how to most efficiently check out and get to the airport and they were very helpful. Food: While it is close to a lot of places to eat it also has a great restaurant in the building. We ate breakfast both days we stayed and it was fantastic both times. I would recommend getting that. We also had dinner there one night and it was so good. Definitely worth it if you aren't feeling like going out. Overall/Value for money: We stayed at a cheaper place before this and The Gate Hotel was us splurging for our last two nights to do something different. We probably couldn't have afforded to stay here our whole trip but it was great for those two days. If you are like us and trying to stay a little cheaper give this a shot to end your trip. It was worth the money to experience.

The staff were amazing! They were courteous, very helpful and very accommodating to us guests! The hotel was clean, the rooms were spacious and the overall look is superb. The location of the hotel is perfect — walking distance to bus stops and train station. Also central to shopping areas and there were a lot of food restaurants nearby. To add, Glanta is in front of the hotel. I’d book again if I come back to Kyoto. Highly recommend!
