The position of the property was great. One block to a Hop on - Hop off bus stop. Easy walking down to the Pike Market. The staff were just so friendly, especially Drew. Loved the bar area.

No swimming pool. Business center didn't work, they didn't provide an alternative(needed to work on a computer for 20 mins) both computers in business center were down. Front desk agents were rude and not helpful. Property is outdated and overpriced, if you're reading this and considering, book the Fairmont across the street.

Based on my past experience, I've always considered the W a premium property. In fact, the W San Diego is one of the best hotels I've ever had the pleasure of visiting. This one is just okay. It was nice, it was clean and the service was great....but it's not premium. For the price they charge, it should be much nicer. The furnishings are meh, the bathroom was less than meh - I've had better showers at a Courtyard - and the overall experience didn't match the price. Gotta admit tho - the after-hours DJ was amazing and added to our overall experience!

Staff was great! Walking around anywhere outside the hotel was terrible. Homeless relieving themselves in public and going through trash all around.

Valet service was abysmal. We waited for 40 minutes in plain view of the valets in a queue of cars only to be told that the lot was full, which I later learned that those checking in well prior to me had already been told. While waiting, I went in to check in and was told by a guest that they were told the parking lot was full by the valet attendant. It would have been so easy for them to advise everyone all at once instead of us waiting 40 minutes in line. Our bathroom was disgusting - mold in the shower, dirty grout around the bathtub, and our room was not what we ordered, leaving us all crammed in a small room. This is easily the most disappointing stay I've had a at a W hotel or any other Marriott property.

Great hotel! Wish it had a microwave in our room and a frig for food. This was a vibrant and alive hotel but our rooms were quiet and we could rest all night!

All the employees were helpful with any question we had, we enjoyed room service, the hotels restaurant was good. The Hotel is maybe a block from University Lake Station if taking the light rail from the airport.
