Bathtub tap broke off after trying to have a shower but the maintenance lady fixed it within half an hour. Fire alarm went off at 11:30 at night but it was a false alarm, Luckily we were still awake. Not a bad spot though if you are visiting the downtown area.

No one was answering the front desk phone. Then met the lady on duty at the elevator, told her about the phone issue and asked her for TP. She told me she’ll have someone deliver it but when I came back , I stopped by the front desk and ask about the TP, not yet delivered after almost 4 hrs, so she handed me a roll of TP. Hair conditioner in BR was empty but can’t request as usual, no one is answering the phone. Overall, not costumer friendly.

Check in was quick (all on a kiosk, but someone was there to help) and they had our room ready early. We were in a remodeled room and found it nicely updated. It is pretty small but just enough room for my husband and I. no countertop space and a tight fit in the bathroom. However location was great and that is the main thing we wanted!

When I attempted to book online it didn’t show there was no availability for room I was trying to get. It still charged me I requested a room at the front desk and I was told they don’t do that (a front desk at a hotel?) whe I finally was able to book a room around 5 pm it was unavailable to me for over an hour. There was also no Matt or non slip surface in the bathroom or tub causing me to slip and fall and seriously injur my leg to the point of bruising.

This hotel is NOT ADA compliant. Steps up in to the lobby and then down to the room elevators (only one of which was working of the two). No ramps. So no wheelchair access. Stairs are difficult for older folks who've had joint (hip and knee) surgeries. The room safe is located literally on the floor so you need to get on your hands and knees to use it. They use a text based app system for requests and mostly ignore the phone. It took three calls and four hours to get hand soap delivered to our room. Location is great, but noisy to the point that they have ear plugs in the room. The 1938 grill affiliated with the hotel doesn't take cash or allow room charges. Ugh. One tiny shelf in the bathroom to hold items. The only reason for two stars instead of one is the location is good, they have a decent coffee maker in the room and the bed is nice and firm. Not a place for older folks as I saw many struggling to get their luggage up and down the stairs. Can't recommend.

The self-check in did not work. Other guests checking in at the same time expressed challenges as well. A few days prior to check in i received an email requesting I complete a pre-registration card. Once complete the hotel charged one night stay as a hold, which was fine. The frustration was when we arrived at the hotel and attempted the self check in the hotel tried to charge the full amount of our stay despite being told they charge the first night and $100 deposit.

There was no air conditioning in the room – they decide when to turn it on, so we were freezing! This is really misleading to the customer. On top of that, there was no Wi-Fi in the room. The bathroom drain was clogged, which turned the shower into a small pool. The staff was lovely, but the hotel itself was nothing less than terrible. Luckily, we only had to suffer for one night, but it was definitely not worth the money.
