This hotel was extremely misled by images and reviews. We traveled with several families and kids expecting a pool based on web description and picture. What we found on arrival was an old pool filled with dirt.In requested a change in room to have two beds and was told that will be $100 per night. I understand the need to be charged an increase however I should be compensated for no pool. Tv didn’t work pillows were as thin as a piece of paper. For $300 a night once all in …absolutely horrible.

The rooms were pretty decent quality, but the beds were absolute rocks. They either bought the worst beds possible or they’re a million years old. But they were easily the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in. The staff was nice and welcoming. Overall it wasn’t bad, but the beds were absolutely terrible.

Sid was an incredible host. When I booked the property, I thought there was a pool. There were some photos of the property when it had a pool but it has since been filled in. I let him know and he graciously let us park there for an extended time in return for the old photos. Rooms are clean and a great size. I booked two rooms and brought six teenagers with me. Rooms have fridges and microwaves. We had a blast walking to/from the Boardwalk and also to/from downtown SC. I'd highly recommend the Torch Lite Inn for a clean, conveniently located, low-cost option in Santa Cruz.

Torch lite inn review.
They recently remodeled so the rooms were much better than before. But I can tell that the cleanliness of the room when I checked in wasn’t very good, I could tell the last cleaning that was done before I checked in was done half a$$. But overall I enjoyed my stay very much.

My son and I had a relatively nice stay at the Torch Lite Inn. The gentleman who checked us in was very kind and helpful. Upon entering our room, everything looked nice, clean and updated. The only thing that was disconcerting to me was that the bathroom door was closed when we entered the room. Didn't know if someone was in there or not 😆. I knocked, no answer, opened the door and nobody was there except for what appeared to be some sort of condiment on the light switch. I say it was ketchup and my son thinks it was bbq sauce 😬. Anywho, whatever it was, it should not have been there...it made me question the cleanliness of the room.

Front desk person made a comment about my race and it was not appropriate. They also assumed we were going to wreck our room by bringing our road biles into the room. Lastly, we had to get our key fixed multiple times because it stopped working.
