John helped us out and made the stay absolutely pleasant! Highly recommend this hotel. Right across the street from the boardwalk, and a short walk/uber/drive to downtown and other hot spots. Roof-top balcony was another plus!

Nice place to stay if you DONT want to sleep in. Building a new hotel across the street so construction starts bright and early 7am! So loud and close that I could hear the workers yelling. Check in was a bit long of a wait and parking isn’t big for a larger vehicle. Rooms are on the small side but it is new and clean.

Proximity to the beach is the main selling point….
Decent view of the beach and ocean in one of the partial ocean view rooms but the room wasn’t all that clean. At first glance the room looked pretty clean but the floor was disgusting, leaving socks and feet nearly black, even right out of the shower. The hotel staff was nice however we walked past the hotel manager talking down to his employees, which didn’t leave us feeling all that great. Overall the place is super close to the beach, the pier, and the boardwalk so that is nice but the cleanliness and way the manager treated the employees in front of guests was off putting.

Newly remodeled but poorly done
Stayed two days at nearly 600 per night.. expectes luxury with the luxery room. As it was freshly remodeled but you can the builder did it on a budget. Air conditioner was loud and was annoying. You can hear everyone walking down hallway like they where in the room with you avnd also you can hear every footstep of whomever is above you. I would look elsewhere at this price point. I would have this as a 1 star but the staff was amazing and could not have asked for better service.

Even though I felt welcomed at the reception and was treated with respect, they offered me one of their worst rooms! 😔 It’s like a dungeon - dark, small, not much storage space, car and people traffic outside and very noisy. This 4-story bldg has so many rooms, some with beautiful views of the boardwalk and the ocean, and they offered their worst room to a new guest! They also charge $25/night for their hideous parking garage with tight spaces where you can barely back out of, while trying not to side-swipe other vehicles. I guess I will have to look for another lodge the next time I’m visiting Santa Cruz. On a more positive note, the room itself is clean and well maintained, and smells good.

From start to finish this hotel was giving excellent service. We were always greeted with a smile when entering the lobby. Room was clean with an appropriator amount of towels didn’t need to ask for anything. The ocean view and close walk to the boardwalk and pier were the icing on the cake. We didn’t use the pool but it looked clean and refreshing. We will absolutely be back hopefully for a longer stay next time.

This is probably the best location in Santa Cruz! It’s right across the street from the beach and boardwalk. If you forget something while you’re sitting on the beach, you simply walk across the street directly to your room and your back on the beach in five minutes! The staff was great and friendly! Parking was easy. In the rooms are all clean and updated! Will definitely stay there again.
