I really enjoyed my stay at the Residence Inn San Mateo. The room was super spacious and had everything I needed—full kitchen, comfy bed, and a nice little living area to relax in. It felt more like an apartment than a hotel room, which was perfect for winding down after a busy day. The staff were friendly and helpful, always greeting me with a smile. Breakfast was solid with plenty of options to start the day. The location worked out great too—close to the airport and easy to get around town, but still quiet enough to feel relaxed.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights. The check in process went smoothly, had a nice quiet room, and breakfast was a typical hotel breakfast. Our issue occurred when our flight was changed to an hour and a half earlier. We grabbed our daughter from bed and hustled out the door. We quickly stopped by the front desk to see if we could grab a milk for our one year old daughter so she had something for breakfast. The young girl working the desk was very unprofessional and rude. She said “well sorry breakfast is closed.” We stated we didn’t need breakfast just if she could go upstairs and grab us a milk for our daughter, we even offered to pay for it, and once again she said “nope sorry upstairs is closed right now.” I asked if she knew someone who had a key and she said “nope we do not have a key for upstairs and breakfast is closed right now.” All she had to do was apologize and say unfortunately they couldn’t do that for us, but it’s how horrible she treated us and did not show hospitality at all. Outside of that experience we had a good time, but that interaction really left a sour taste in our mouth.

Great location, I wish the lights in the room can be brighter or at least add a bit more lights. The a/c heater is noisy but manageable and u can hear people walking from above the ceiling at night. Need better sound prooofing

From check in to check out staff was always kind and helpful. Room was clean and accommodated us well. Free breakfast that had a different variety each day which was awesome and parking! Location was quiet, private, and in the middle of all the areas we wanted to see and travel too. Overall I highly recommend staying here especially if you’re staying for more than 1-2 days, the full kitchen was a plus! One thing to mention, although my stay was quoted at a certain price through Expedia , my final total was $50 more. So just keep that in mind. Overall though still worth the stay! Will definitely come back!
