Nice staff but hotel needs work.

Quick stopover on our way South. Staff was friendly, breakfast got the job done. Room was very average to below average. Needs some work, to say the least. Paint peeling, stains on ceiling, rust in the bathroom. The room was cleaned but this hotel needs an overhaul.

The room smelled like mold. It was so humid in the room that the floor and sheets were sticky. We spent about 6 hours in the room to sleep and couldn’t wait to leave. We arrived late at night and the parking lot was shady.

When we walked into the hotel it smelled moldly/mildew. The room was terrible. We checked the mattresses and boxspring to find stains (unsure of what it was). We immediately checked out and the hotel attendant supposedly refunded us. I am waiting for the refund it should take a few days she said. For us this hotel was not acceptable. The area appears unsafe with woods and homeless holding signs by the hotel parking lot as we left.
