Very comfortable
A very comfortable stay! The rooms provided were very clean and quiet. There is ample carparking along the street however, everyday is a lottery as Queenstown can be quite busy. The only nitpick comment I would have to make is that the room can be a little too dim. The size of the rooms are huge but the amount light can be a bit insufficient. During the day there is just enough natural light which is fine.

Great boutique hotel, a small oasis perfectly located just a block up from the loud & crowded urban core. Clean and very comfortable. The light breakfast offerings are limited so consider dining out if you prefer something more substantial.

Very clean spacious room with a lovely small balcony with views of the gondola. Nice decor and lots of unexpected freebies. Free soft drinks, crisps, popcorn, and chocolate covered marshmallow fish. There is a happy hour between 5 and 6 with everything free including beers and wine, plus a platter of snacks including cold meats, cheeses, olives, sun-dried tomato, pickles, bread, cashew nuts, peanuts, and an assortment of confectionery. We were made very welcome at check-in and everything was explained to us. There is a car parking charge of $20, which is well worth it, but there are only 5 spaces available. On street parking is available near the hotel, but we didn't see a free space during our 2 night stay.

I had high hopes for this boutique hotel. Our room was in a lower level with stairs we had to take our luggage down. The room was very very dark. The pillows were like rocks. There was a very sad continental breakfast. The staff was nice and even went out of their way to improve our stay. But, we wish we had stayed elsewhere. There was a very musty smell in the lobby area especially.

Perfect Anniversary!
Perfect place for celebrating our anniversary! We even got a complimentary bottle of wine. Each evening between 5 and 6pm, they serve complimentary wine and heineken with pretzels and nuts. Rooms are stylish, bath was amazing and huge, complimentary bath bomb and bath salts. Beds are super comfy and the lake is just down the road.

An absolute 10/10 ! This hotel offers great comfort and value for money, the daily happy hour and breakfast are great perks !! The property is located within easy walking distance of many fantastic Queenstown lakefront restaurants and bars. Local destinations and attractions such as Arrowtown and many fabulous Otago wineries are also within easy driving distance. My family and I would highly recommend the Central Private Hotel to anyone visiting the Queenstown area !

We loved overall staying at the property. However, the first impression of the manager(front desk) was not what you would expect. He was very dry, not personable, not welcoming, barely smiling, and overall attitude was as almost he didn’t want to be bothered. Alex and cleaning staff were very friendly, caring, helpful, and welcoming. The manage didn’t even ask how was our stay as we were leaving this morning.

First time staying at this hotel. Room is spacious, love the retro decor and service was excellent. The lodge manager was friendly and provided a detail introduction for our stay. Lounge is nice and all guests are very respectful of each other. This is probably the only 5 star hotel that made me feel welcomed and trusting unlike some hotels would charge for pretty much everything more like a transaction rather than a genuinely great hospitality. Thank you!

Great stay in Queenstown
Great stay. The service is the 1st thing that jump out in this place. It is just outstanding from the moment you enter and during the stay. More about it later. The rooms are beautiful with everything a man needs. Great bed, shower, mini-kitchen, and of course the view. Parking and location is also great. If I needed to change something I would just suggest to replace the chair with a backrest chair for people that need to work. I did have some issues with the hot water, but here the service was amazing. They were on top of it and fixed it asap. They even refunded me 15% of my stay more or less.
