Everything thing was great especially the staff. Only issues I saw were that the rules about people putting their towels or personal items on pool chairs to reserve them were not respected. This is something that happens at most resorts so I was not surprised. The only other thing that was a little strange to me was the wait for the steak house. There were lots of empty tables when the staff informed us we needed to wait 45 minutes to sit down. The other issue was the steak in the steak house was not all that good. It was small, over cooked and dry. The steak in the Italian restaurant was actually much better then steak from the steak house. But other than these 2 things, our stay was very nice and we enjoyed our trip.

My husband and I wanted a quick getaway to PVR. We've stayed with a RIU property in the past, just up from the Hotel Vallarta and knew we were getting a good experience and we weren't disappointed. Food options quite limited, restaurants menus are very small, 2-3 appetizers, 4 main courses which felt relatively same as buffet menu. In the buffet the food was the same every day except few specials. The hotel policy on beach towels also seems unnecessarily restrictive. Otherwise good hotel, pretty clean and good service.
