Overall great stay. Except we could hear people making a ton of noise above us all nights. They also failed to bring us breakfast the morning of an excursion we booked through them so we had to skip it. But otherwise bill ice stay.

Solid family fun. Nothing negative to say about this property. Focused on cleanliness, great food and family fun. Chino and Adrian were the highlight at the Sun Bar. They were always welcoming and had lovable personalities.

Super friendly staff and resort was decent but needs a lil updates. Room looks a bit old. Need more food options as staying 6 nights, got tired of it by day 4. Overall decent stay for families traveling with kids.

We had a really unpleasant experience/time at the main bar over by the lobby. I was there sitting watching a live band and there was a guy really drunk acting up and saying all kinds of stuff to all people there meaning stuff and clients. He come to me really close two times and I ask the stuff there to call security but they never come. After almost one hr or more I walk back to the bar to grabe a drink and he Approach Me one more time and we started to argue then he push me so we started fighting. After All This Finally Security got there and the manager at the time Ernesto Perez kick me out of the hotel 1:10 AM his excuse to do that Wednesday I was alternating the order and the safety of the public people there. I told him to please check the cameras and see what was happening and why it everything escalated to the point his answer was like I don’t need to check any cameras I make the decisions here which I answer all the above you know I’ve been sitting here for an hour asked for security to come take this guy out of the bar and he say he never got a call and it was all my fault. That was my first night there and I have two more nights to go and I say fine. You know I don’t wanna argue. All I want. Is you to reimburse my money back since you’re kicking me out and he didn’t wanna kick out the other person that started everything I had two people that go with me and he make everybody in my room leave the hotel and the other guy had like six people and they all stay no prob

We spent 6 nights at the HR Vallarta and were overall disappointed with our stay. We found it lacking vs other all inclusives. Our group consisted of 3 adults and 2 kids ages 9 & 11 and we stayed 2 bedroom family suite. PROS: The service was amazing (esp. at Market Cafe, Frida & Zen) & we never had to wait long for a table. Beach was clean; kids enjoyed playing in the ocean and sand. The cleaning staff did a great job. CONS: The TV in our room didn't work (fixed later). The bathroom sink leaked and had to use towels to contain the water. Sewage smell coming from one of the bathrooms (no, not from us). Cockroach got in the room from gap under the front door. 3 nights in the kids room had a leak in the bathroom ceiling via light fixture(!!!) and it took a couple hours to switch rooms. We were not offered any kind of compensation or upgrade for the inconvenience. Although the drinks were tasty, the alcohol was watered down to a point it's impossible to achieve even a light buzz. Hotel reps are a little pushy to get you to sign up for the vacation club membership meeting (although they say it is not a timeshare). At check-in you are given a bracelet to wear during your stay. Besides opening your hotel room door it seems they are used to identify status levels based on color and affects how you are treated. We had a higher level band and people tried to sell us extras after noticing our band color. Thankfully the kids had fun but we aren't likely to return.

The property was nice and well-manicured, and the grounds were clearly maintained with care. The food, however, was just okay. We ended up leaving the property twice to dine elsewhere. One of our rooms had an issue with the toilet, which was frustrating. Overall, nothing about the experience really stood out or wowed me enough to want to return.

Hotel is old, rooms are dirty and the entertainment group is really bad. But restaurants are amazing, food and drinks are top shelf and the pool area is super nice

I liked the feel of the hotel itself. The rock band memaorbilia on the walls was a nice touch. The only thing I did not like was the mixture of adults and children in the smoking/drinking and swimming areas. No smoking in the bars with kids running around was not fun for an all adult group. I don't mind the children at all but I suggest you separate the children's swimming area and the adult area. Also, if you are strict about designated smoking areas you should consider a stricter policy on children in the bar areas after 10:00 p.m. The service was great, the food was also very good. Thank you.
