The Riu Palace Pacifico is a very well-run, clean, and attractive resort with consistently attentive and friendly staff. Service throughout the property is excellent. While tipping isn’t required, it is clearly appreciated, and having small Mexican bills on hand is helpful. You don’t need to tip everyone every day, but staff genuinely notice and appreciate it. The resort is fairly large, so guests with mobility concerns should be aware that there can be a fair amount of walking. The food is generally quite good for an all-inclusive, with some meals standing out as very good. Guests who enjoy dining off-property will also find good options in nearby Bucerías. Many people choose this resort for its comfort, safety, and ease, and English is spoken everywhere. Overall, it’s best thought of as a relaxed, well-organized “floating resort” — comfortable, predictable, and very easy to enjoy.

The staff front top to bottom were friendly and helpful. The entire facility is clean and beautiful. The food was excellent and the variety was great.

Unfortunately, my experience at this resort was very disappointing. One ongoing issue was the condition of the shower towels — they were worn out and had visible stains, which is unacceptable and made the room feel unhygienic. The resort was also extremely crowded, which negatively impacted the overall experience. This stay was especially important to us because it was our anniversary. At check-in, I clearly mentioned this to the front desk, but no one asked for the date or made any effort to assist with any preparation or even simple room decoration. On the night of our anniversary (01/22/2026), we attempted to have dinner at the steakhouse. We had already coordinated with a host earlier and were told to come at 8:00 PM. However, when we arrived, a different host told us they were full and not accepting any new guests. I explained that it was our anniversary, but she showed no concern, immediately rejected us, and did not attempt to help us find another restaurant. What makes this worse is that the same host treated us the same way previously at the Krystal restaurant on 01/17/2025, right after we had checked in. Her behavior was unprofessional on both occasions. On our anniversary night, her reaction was so dismissive that it caused my wife to cry. This experience left a lasting negative impression. Because of the lack of care, professionalism, and basic hospitality, I will not recommend this resort — or any RIU resort — to friends or family.

This is a wonderful beachfront property with three pools, great food and top shelf drinks. The staff were all very attentive to whatever we needed and they had planned entertainment every evening. Unfortunately the Riu parties are only on Fridays (at the adjacent Riu Jalisco hotel) so we missed out on that one. Knocked off one star because the resort credit advertised on Expedia is very misleading. It's not a $500 discount off a massage or whatever, instead it's a set of coupons that are really quite useless (like the $300 discount in case you decide to have a spontaneous wedding during your stay!). Also worth nothing that this property tends to lean to an older crowd. If you're in your 20s and 30s you might want to find somewhere a little more lively.

Property is great , food is good, recommend the steak house (get there early if not there is a cut off) depends if you go on high or low season. Low season no problem with that. All you can eat , drink (premium alcohol )

Food was underwhelming as a whole. Steak house is a nightmare to try and eat at. You have to wait in line for an hour before the steak house opens to try and get an seat. All of the other restaurants are a 5/10. You can only drink beer and wine at restaurants they won’t give you a different drink. Honestly, the food was actually terrible. If you try and get a seat at the pool in the morning you should plan to get out there at 6am to “save” your section of pool chairs. Room service was sub par. No real food for the room service. You can get a sandwich and chips and fruit and that’s really about it. Best food they had was the taco bar for lunch by the pool. Drinks were decent. Service at the pool was great. All of the staff were very nice. Great location on the beach. Rooms were clean and tidy.

Wonderful place, everyone who worked there was kind and amazing. Room was clean however they do allow noise in. Food was OK, drinks were good. I really enjoyed my stay and would return again.
