We stayed in a garden room. It was very peaceful and quiet. The room was very clean and with the fan and air con it was nice and cool. Meals and drinks are served over the lagoon, which is stunning with lots of marine life to watch while you eat and drink. There is a lovely pool area to lounge by. The owners are lovely too, and very helpful with many tips for getting the most out of your time. The staff are wonderful, very helpful and kind. It’s a very short trip into Port Vila by one of the many buses that drive by the place.

Very quiet and peaceful

Pros: Peaceful, very happy staff, beautiful gardens, Breakfast was fabulous and plentiful.
Cons: Bathrooms need a bit of TLC and some hooks or towel rack needed on the balconies to dry towels and swimmers etc
Location: Close enough to town, only 150 V each to get to with lots of buses at door. Some good and some not so good. But every one of the drivers friendly.Lyn
The owners lovely people and the gardens were fabulous. A little tucked away piece of paradise

Wonderful place to stay, best kitchen in Vanuatu!

Wonderful time, the restaurant is the best we found in 2 weeks of travel in Vanuatu. The owners are super helpful and considerate. Small seahorse family around the deck, watch out though those steps are seriously slippery, lovely rooms, the pools is very small and pretty cool but its perfect for a quick cool down. Would definitely recommend to friends.

Private oasis

Pros: The staff, owners, lagoon, views, position ie: far enough from town yet close enough.
Location: Recommend the round Island tour, book through the hotel. Full day but price includes EVERYTHING, ie: morning & arvo tea, lunches, entry fees etc.
What an amazing place settled on one of the lagoons with the famous restaurant that is overwater. The owners and staff are extremely accommodating and generous. We stayed for a week, and ate at the restaurant every evening. Lovely to have a day out and come back to our '2nd home' have dinner and relax for the evening. The rooms facing the lagoon with views and balconys are the pick if you want views otherwise the 'burees/huts' are new and have everything you need and just a few metres from the restaurant and lagoon. we will be back!

Wonderful hosts, lovely surroundings...

Cons: The swimming pool was small but adequate and because it was painted a dark colour, not as attractive as some.
We recently had a week in Richard and Ursula's lovely hotel. We found our villa very clean, spacious and in a pleasant setting. You would never have known that there had been a cyclone. Ursula was able to direct us to all the worthwhile spots- really loved the Cascade falls and Erakor island which cost approx $20 but could be redeemed against food, and Paradise cove. Food at Vila Chaumieres during our stay was delicious although a little more expensive than some of the other restaurants we ate at. Would also recommend Cafe Du Ville in the township for a coffee or evening meal- a pretty setting, right on the harbour. We also enjoyed a tapa/pizza menu at Cocoma resort just a short walk on same road for an inexpensive lunch or dinner. We enjoyed being out of the main township which was only a short bus ride away. (Buses come continually so there was never a wait.) Make sure you take something to read and do if not going out in the evening as there is no TV. Ursula was happy to lend us games/books if we had wanted it. It took a day or so to settle in and get used to the buses etc, and then all good. We would happily return there .

Fantastic stay!

I made a last minute reservation when the usual 'business hotels' in Port Vila were booked out. It was my first time visit to or stay at the hotel and I was more than pleasantly surprised. It is located a little out of Port Vila itself but only 4km - an easy taxi/bus ride in to town and there is a supermarket and small coffee shop less than 1km walk away. My room was large, airy and spotlessly clean. The free wifi was useable (and a faster commercial connection available). The room I had overlooked Lagoon 2 with its quiet and safe garden setting. The restaurant, right on the lagoon is a little pricey but has a good menu and the food was well prepared. The management and staff were above and beyond helpful. Overall experience - highly recommended!
