"Very spacious and home feel stay"
The manager and his wife made us feel so welcome. They provide us with lots of useful info from restaurants recommendations to recommended walking trails at Mount Cook. We decided to just made our own dinner and rest before the big day walking at Mount Cook, we bought some packaged frozen food and didn't realise there isn't any oven at the apartment, the manager just offered to bake it for us and we had a nice dinner! Thanks to them.

It's a decent motel at a remote place. the staff at the restaurant were helpful. Breakfast was good. Wish they upgrade their interior furnishings, as at the moment they look ancient. Some of the lights in the room weren't working

Nice people manage this motel. Well maintained. Bedroom separate from living/cooking area. It's a very good 3 plus motel. Tiles on floor were slippery when wet- use the hand hold as you exit or enter and watch your toes on the door stop on the floor. Otherwise great

    Accommodation In Omarama

Sitting on New Zealand's South Island, the town of Omarama may be small but it certainly knows how to pull in the crowds! Located only 100kmaway from the towering Mount Cook, it is an incredibly beautiful spot, known for its terrific flying and gliding opportunities. Many people come here to soar through the skies and admire the dramatic and pretty scenery below, although there are heaps of other fun things to do and terrific things to see while in town. Showcasing some of the best sights of the country, Omarama is not to be missed! Get your Omarama hotel booked and tick it off your bucket list.

The town is a great place to get high - literally! A number of operators offer gliding and hang gliding trips, perfect for admiring truly breathtaking views. With both feet firm on the ground, fly fishing is another popular activity in the town. Visitors can also trot through the gorgeous landscapes on horseback, enjoy terrific hiking and climbing, and relax in a blissful outdoor hot tub. There are several excellent wineries just waiting to be explored, and there are numerous places to enjoy a delicious meal and a drink.

At the heart of town there is a large statue of a sheep, and the countryside is home to many of these fluffyanimals. Learn more about the role of sheep in New Zealand's agriculture at the Wrinkly Rams Sheep Shearing Experience; it is a fun time for the whole family! Another major feature is the Clay Cliffs - an unusual series of rock formations with spiky pinnacles and plunging ravines. Go walking, cycling, and wildlife spotting in the Ahuriri Conservation Park, relax at Ladybird Hill, and take an excursion to the pretty Seven Lakes. And whatever you do, don’t miss the country's highest mountain, Mount Cook – though it’s pretty hard to not notice it looming in the sky!
