Our stay is alway great. We live staying at the Schooner inn. Hot tub great, ocean front great, rooms are clean but floors seem a little older; but the cleaning staff make it better 👍. Parking is always a little tight but we are used to it. My wife and I came twice this year. If we could come more, we absolutely would

Our room eas clean and orderly It had a wonderful beach view. I am not sure about prime season time but when we were there in the off season it was quiet with not a lot of foot traffic. We will come back.

Wish I had more positive things to say

The staff was very friendly and access to the beach was really convenient. Those were the only positives about our stay. The room we stayed in was not in the best condition. The paint job was horrible, the room wasn’t cleaned well found marks on the wall in the bathroom, there was also dust build up in the bathroom vent. I was nervous some of it would fall on me while I was using the bathroom. There were also some black marks on the bedding.

We had an enjoyable 3 night stay at the Schooner Hotel in Virginia Beach for my dads naval reunion. It was the beginning of the off season and the price was extremely affordable compared to other hotels in the area. Our rooms were clean and very spacious with two full beds, a two seat table, and a six drawer dresser. There was plenty of room for luggage, coolers, or even a roll away bed or cot for a child. It was actually one of the largest hotel rooms we have stayed in recently. The beach is right there and you can walk straight out to the ocean. It is about an hour or a little more to places like Williamsburg and Yorktown, so it is a good spot if you want beach access with the option to drive to historic attractions. Parking was a little tight at times, but this was mostly due to other guests parking crooked. The staff were very friendly and made our stay pleasant. Is it outdated? Yes, very. There are simple improvements that could be made such as replacing ripped or dingy shower curtains, updating lighting fixtures, and replacing mattresses that dip toward the middle. The bathroom lights would not always fully turn on so the room stayed dim. The TV is small and only one of the two beds really had a clear view of it. Is it noisy? Not any more than any other hotel. Most of the noise came from fellow patrons being inconsiderate. For the love of God, guide your door closed and do not let it swing shut so hard that it wakes everyone around you. Nice clean place, but AC was out

Easy parking, friendly front desk staff, but pool was closed (no sure why…something about the tarp, as per maintenance), and in the evening l realized the AC wasnt working so our room was hot (75 degrees) for the night. Loved the view of the ocean, and very easy access to the beach and the playground next door!

I’ve stayed here previously, and will again. Can’t beat the ocean views. On the strip, without being “on” the strip. Being away from the noise/traffic is a definite plus. Parking isn’t as bad as the area hotels; just get there early

Our stay lasted less than 3 hrs. Beds weren’t comfortable.. I can live with that. The guest in the adjoining room as smoking cigarettes in their room. It quickly engulfed our room- despite putting towels on the floor to try to block it from coming in. I’m allergic to the smoke and called the front desk to notify them and told them our room now smells so bad it’s unbearable. I heard maintenance come down the hall for less than two minutes and then left again. I called yet again, ans nobody came to our room to check on us and our room, and they told me the guest said they weren’t smoking in the room. I stated that was an absolute lie and what are we supposed to do now, as I know have a migrane, eyes burning, throat irritation, and a child with me also dealing with it. Their fix… a smoke clearing machine! No offer to change rooms or anything. My daughter and I had to leave, we had no choice. Waste of money and we drove another 3 hr drive home at 9:30 at night. I went to the front desk to complain about their lack of trying to accommodate us and assist us in this mess and their excuse was “we were busy”. Highly do not recommend.
