Incredible Staff

The staff at The Newport Harbor Hotel & Marina is nothing short of amazing! I had spoke to a gentleman on the phone and he was so helpful and pleasant. The woman that checked us in was a doll! The young man that checked us out was super nice. These 3 individuals should give Customer Service lessons to the industry! That alone made our stay wonderful! The room was clean, nice amenities, beautiful view. We're looking forward to staying again!

Great location, central to Newport. It was very easy to park in the private lot. The staff were friendly. The pool was a nice size and clean. The hotel felt a little rundown overall. The bathtub in our room did not look clean and had hairs in it. There is a $35 amenity fee per guest per night that I was not expecting and as far as I can tell, there were no unique amenities. Just the pool.

We checked in Tuesday, feb 25 2025 my wife took a shower Wednesday morning and towels from drying off were brown!! We called front desk to inform them of water problem . They said we will send engineer up to room!! Hotel maintenance man who told us that it’s been a problem and it is being fixed ! We went to front desk and they said to run hot water for 15 minutes and should clear out because it’s an old hotel !! That’s pretty funny and a poor excuse!! And by the way we came here for are 41st anniversary!! Yahoo great memories! 👎👎👎

Very conveniently located & easy walking distance to everything. The hotel was very clean & had a nice restaurant & bar. The only drawback was the restaurant & bar are closed by 9pm on Friday’s & Saturday’s. Not ideal for a hotel when it’s sold out for the weekend.

Convenient and central...but room for improvement

The good points: All the staff - front desk, housekeeping, and restaurant - were super friendly, helpful and responsive. The room had a balcony overlooking the harbor, which was nice (but a bit too cold this time of year to spend much time out there). Parking was part of the reservation which is a great thing here and the facility is walking distance to just about everything in downtown Newport. Now the areas for improvement: Toliet was not very efficient at its job - wasted a lot of water on flushes. The shower controls took a bit of trial and error to get to a reasonable temperature - these things shouldn't require that much work. The room was large and comfortable, but the temp was hard to stabilize. Door to the balcony rattled with the wind and you could feel the draft - definitely needed weatherstripping/caulking. For a 4 story hotel, the elevators were very slow and the door operation was quirky. This place could sorely use an update - not just another coat of paint.

We love Newport and have stayed at this hotel before. this time we stayed in a walkout marina room. The view was lovely. However, the door didn’t seal well and we could see outside though the crack in the door making it a loud and cold evening.
