I thought this was a perfect hotel! One of the best I’ve stayed at. The staff were all exceptional, room clean and modern, beds and bedding very comfortable. The parking lot next door is very convenient and the guys working there were so nice and helpful. Its within walking distance to Newark Penn Station, with a 20 minute ride into Penn Station in manhattan. Plenty of food options in walking distance. I’m a mom who was traveling alone with 2 young kids and I felt safe walking around at night from the station. The shuttle to the airport or train station was very convenient! This is a great option for staying near the airport or as a home base for NYC.

The hotel was modern, luxuriously decorated, smelled amazing and staff were friendly. The bartender Katierra was super friendly and made the best mixed drinks! I highly recommend this location.

Great hotel a quick train ride from NYC!

Both the hotel and the service we received were top notch! Very comfortable but not luxurious. Service was attentive, friendly, and efficient. We had breakfast in the on-site restaurant. I would rate that as a 3.5.

Maybe find another hotel, they wouldn’t care.

Every staff member acted like we were an inconvenience. I first messaged via Hotels.com to arrange airport pickup (as instructed) but got no reply. After calling several times, I was told vaguely that the shuttle comes every half hour with no directions. From the airport, I called again since the pickup spot wasn’t marked; that rep was a bit more helpful but still curt. After waiting over 30 minutes, I called once more and was told they’d “call the driver.” He eventually came and was nice, though his driving felt unsafe. At check-in, the clerk barely looked at me, didn’t verify ID, and acted like I was interrupting her. The room was fine—clean enough, though it had an odd smell. The mattress was passable, but if you slept near the edge you’d slide off. The shower was decent. The key card said the restaurant was open until 11pm, but when we arrived at 10:15, employees shut off the lights and told us they’d closed at 9:30. Breakfast was worse. We waited with no guidance until we asked if we should seat ourselves. The waiter never checked on us, bused a dirty table, or refilled water—we had to approach him each time. He spent most of the time talking at the bar and watching his phone. The food was overpriced and mediocre. Checkout was equally dismissive. The only positives: the location near our event and our return shuttle driver, who was very pleasant and even dropped us right at the terminal—he gets five stars. Otherwise, service was consistently rude and indifferent.

The hotel itself is very nice and was very clean and quiet. The staff at the reception desk were rude. The parking situation is very confusing since there are lots on either side of the hotel, but the desk clerks acted like we were bothering them at check-in and check-out when we asked how the parking worked. They were very brusque during all interactions and never smiled. If it weren't for them, the hotel would have gotten 5 stars from me

The room and bed were very nice and clean. I had a Zoom meeting close to checkout time and the front desk was so understanding and accommodating. I had dinner and lunch at the hotel, tasty food, perfect portions and fantastic staff. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Classic gemstone in the Central Business District of Newark…check it out…a lot going on downtown.
