Immediately upon arrival I found the receptionist to be rude. There was no welcome greeting or small talk, and she even said to me when she heard someone come in the door she thought it was her colleague to take over so she could go home! I was not taken up to my room either, I had to find my own way.
The room appeared in good condition and clean at first glance, but as I got settled in I began noticing things. There were sections of the floor that looked like they hadn’t been vacuumed, the picture frames on the wall were squint, near the window the ceiling looked damp and the layers were peeling apart, the walls were full of chips and the paint was marked all over. The toilet and sink were okay, but the shower was grim. The grouting and sealant were sloppy, and the ceiling above the shower was black with mould. It was also the tiniest shower head I’ve ever seen, the water didn’t even come out properly, and the temperature control didn’t work; it was either far too hot or freezing cold.
I would stay again in a pinch if I had little other choice, but best avoided until they get the basics right
