The Whole hotel was like a frozen tundra. When we entered our room the heat was set to 43 degrees. We understand not having everything at a full 70 degrees but the hotel was freezing. The interior was dated and not clean. We made it for our night stay but ai would never stay again.

Rooms are dated. This is an older building and hasn't seen a full renovation in decades, it's the usual swap out a vanity, repair plaster, paint selected areas but not everything. Keely hebokd flooring, old furnishings. Its just a half remodel sometime in the last ten years or so. .. needs a full remodel and new management.

There were no TV remotes, so we had to turn them on, up, off and down by hand. Our room was very hot when we got there, so we turned off the heat, but couldn't find anywhere to turn the ac on. It was confusing to find the front desk. The elevator was really small

While the staff was friendly, we still ran into a lot of issues with our stay. When we arrived, our room was easily 95°+ degrees. We were late for a concert so we turned the thermostat all the way down and left. When we returned almost 4 hours later, the room temp had not changed. We put the dial in each position but the heat never kicked off. We let the front desk know and he brought us a box fan and told us that the room would cool down with that. He came 3 more times with more/different fans. At this point, it was 12:30am and I asked to just switch rooms. He said to give the fans a chance to work and, if it was still hot in an hour, he’d move us. Not wanting to wait until 1:30 in the morning when we were already tired from travel and our event, we went down to the desk 20min later and asked if we could be refunded, after waiting over 15min for him to be at the desk) and check out. He said he could not refund us but asked us not to check out and put us in another room (which seemed to be used/not cleaned at all- there was hair all over, sticky stuff on the desk and wardrobe, and the bedding had stains and a piece of candy stuck to it). Exhausted and over 5 hours from home, we decided to just try to rest for a couple hours and then leave. While getting changed finally, he stopped by again and knocked (despite the do not disturb sign being up) to ask how we were. The heat didn’t work so it was freezing but it was better than being baked alive like in the first room!

I wasn’t to happy with my stay at the hotel. The room that I was given originally didn’t have electricity, and one of the beds was broken. We called the front desk to ask for a new room, which we did get. It was ok. The staff was friendly, and the breakfast was delicious, paying for the parking was not to thrilling. For a hotel in downtown Wisconsin I was disappointed.
