The property is very old. No fridge in the rooms. The curtains are old damaged and let the light in The noise is terrible so if you want a good sleep then forget it The hotel is equivalent to a 1 star motel The lady checking me in was the best part of the experience and apologised for the hotel as I was checking in so at least I was pre warned

The property is under renovation so I gave it 4 stars for facilities and condition as they are continuing to work on that. The staff at checkin was extremely friendly and helpful. The room is large and has a beautiful view. The hotel itself is perfectly situated!

My girlfriend and I were excited to celebrate Valentine's Day in NYC and I thought I found a great deal on the hotel. The room was solid: spectacular view, a comfortable bed, a big TV, and a nice shower. However, our stay started off terribly since we had to wait about an hour and 15 minutes to check in. Only two receptionists were working, which I already thought was odd, but there are two things that really shocked me: those that had already reserved a room did not get any preferential treatment and the hotel had no employee to speak with patrons on line. I understand that when it gets busy on a holiday weekend there are limitations, nevertheless, there was no indication the hotel made any effort to accomodate the dozens of people waiting for a room - which included families with small children. Additionally, the manager, who was the only employee not wearing a name tag, was extremely rude to the family in front of us because they supposedly gave him the wrong last name for their reservation. Whether that is true or not, clearly he should not be in the service industry if one busy night is going to make him explode on guests. The one positive thing I will mention about the check in: when it was finally our turn, Maxine was very pleasant and attentive, and despite the very poor circumstances, we managed to share a couple laughs. We had a really fun night and this is a nice hotel, but many, many improvements need to be made with the check in process.

I recently stayed at The Manhattan Inn in New York, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. While the check-in process and location were convenient, the overall condition of the hotel room left much to be desired. Upon entering the room, I immediately noticed it was dirty, old, and had a persistently unpleasant odor. Despite the lower price, I expected a certain level of cleanliness, especially considering the hotel's location in Times Square. The room had a faint smell of marijuana, which was quite disturbing. Due to a storm the day prior, I couldn't use the water until late in the evening after check-in. Although I had planned to shower late at night, a leak in the tub created a massive mess in the bathroom. This added to the overall feeling of discomfort, and I couldn't shake the sensation of being in an unclean environment. The most significant issue, however, was the malfunctioning heater. Discovering this late at night left me in a difficult situation, as I had to endure a freezing night without the option of warmth. Unfortunately, I hesitated to seek assistance due to being a solo female traveler and feeling unsafe. This made my stay even more uncomfortable. In conclusion, my experience at The Manhattan was highly disappointing, and I would not recommend it to anyone. The subpar conditions of the room, combined with the issues with water, cleanliness, and a malfunctioning heater, made for an unpleasant stay.

Place is a little run down. Dirty old carpet on the hallway leading to our room. Rooms are just ok. Staff was a combination of nice and rude. Depending on who you talked to at the time. Elevator broke down and wasn't promptly, leaving guest stranded in the lobby or having to walk up the service stairs to their respective floor. We were on the 11th floor and had to walk up and down several times. This hotel just needs to be updated, the location is excellent if you want to experience Manhattan.
