The property does not have the usual amenities like coffee, etc. But cafe is right next door. Facility is very clean and the room was quiet and comfortable with the exception of some radiator heating problems, but staff amd manager right there to help. All staff was welcoming. Will definitely use on my next trip.

Very disappointing hotel that needs some serious u

The bed and pillows were terrible — like sleeping on a trampoline, could feel every spring. There wasn’t even a tank or desk in the room, despite photos suggesting otherwise. I could hear someone on the phone in a room across the hall (non-adjacent wall), and overall it was quite run-down and shabby — not what I expected given the ratings and photos.

This was a fantastic property!! Extremely close to times square, rockefeller center, subway!! Walking distance to central park, empire state building and Chrysler building. We found the location ideal. Close to lots of food options too. That being said, it IS an older property. Views werent great, but in reality, we basically only slept and showered at the hotel. Took a minute for hot water to make it to the room. And the beds were a bit squeaky. Lol. Overall, it was fantastic for the price and i would stay there again!!

Great location to be close to Time Square. Delis near by. Joey front desk guy is the best!! Super friendly and helpful. Pretty good size room for NYC

Simple and clean. If your looking for glamourous dream hotel vacation this isn't for you but if your mind is for a clean place to stay with plenty of room and rather spend your $ on your activities than tik tok videos of your hotel lock it in. Also Kwik Kart across the street is a must place to eat!!!

Great location and really lovely staff. The price was right, and it was spotless and has had some updates including new floors I didn’t give it 5 stars because our room faced the street and it was very noisy - we each checked to see if the window was open and it wasn’t! But I would stay there again.

This was a good hotel for a short one nignt stay after a Broadway show. The only drawback was the extremely loud radiator that would make an array of sounds for several minutes, multiple times in the night. Otherwise, it was clean and the staff were pleasant!

We were pleasantly surprised with Hotel St. James and would happily stay there again. It's an older hotel and doesn't really have any amenities, but the staff was pleasant and the rooms were clean. It's a block from Times Square, a couple of blocks from MOMA, the Empire State Building, and Penn Station, and near the subway. You couldn't ask for a better location. There was a delightful Irish pub (McCarthy's) on the street parallel with the hotel too!

Great location, size of room good, bed was comfortable, need more hooks, shelf space in bathroom. Only complaint was hearing conversations, coughing etc from next room. Thin walls. Lack of privacy.

Rooms are basic but definitely don’t need a fancy hotel in NYC in my opinion. We had a bath which was nice after a long day of walking and site seeing staf were friendly and room cleaned daily. My second stay in this hotel and it’s position so close to time square makes it a brilliant option
