I loved the property and how lovely the staff was. The room was clean and cool! The location is near train stations and bus lanes so it is very easy to go to wherever you want to go! If I am in a city that has CitizenM, I will definitely be staying there!

Wow! What a unique experience! All the staff is young, kind and vibrant. At check in you can decide where you’d like to have your room. You can choose the floor and direction the room faces. The room was very unique and comfortable. The lighting options in the room will keep you entertained for a while lol. I was apprehensive about the area, but actually I walked around alone with no problem! I loved going around the corner to the food hall—Try the chicken place! Breakfast at the hotel was great! Food options were surprisingly good and the service was fantastic. You can place an order for any kind of latte and there is filtered water at the bar! Will be back if I’m ever in LA again.

Staying at citizenM was a super fun and interesting stay. The room was really cool, super updated, and unique. It had this type of aesthetic that I would equivocate to as that of contemporary art. I very much am an advocate for new and interesting takes on hotels and the insides were the most artistic I’ve seen before on my adventures. That being said, I was not a fan of the lack of a dedicated parking lot for guests of the hotel. I was honestly super annoyed with having to pay everyday for my car to just exist nearby the hotel. I totally understand that we are in the heart of downtown LA but not even offering some sort of discount or validation is disappointing to say the least. That also being said, I was staying here specifically to do stuff in town and it was great. But the parking situation is definitely something that shouldn’t be ignored with staying here. So if you’re thinking about it, just be prepared to essentially pay a parking fee with any of the nearby lots for every passing day that you stay here.

Overall I enjoyed my stay. We got the breakfast included in our stay and I would definitely recommend. The food was pretty good. My only complaint is I wish they switched up the food options because it does get repetitive. Otherwise the hotel was nice and the room was nice as well. The surrounding area is a little questionable but you are in La.

citizenM was a diamond in the rough. We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is super modern and really cool! I'll recommend citizenM to anypne staying in DTLA. But the neighborhood near the hotel was very dilapidated and smelled like urine on every block. We spent the reminder of our time in L.A. away from DTLA.

I recently stayed at citizenM DTLA. Overall, the experience was mixed. The hotel has a very modern, artsy atmosphere with creative decor and smart technology. I appreciated some of the amenities like the rainfall shower and customizable room lighting but the space itself felt quite compact. The bed is positioned directly against the wall on one side, which made it a bit uncomfortable to get in and out of, especially for two people. The lobby and common areas are visually striking, but some of the artwork particularly a sculpture with suggestive wording felt a bit out of place for a hotel setting. It might appeal to travelers who enjoy bold, edgy design, but it didn’t quite align for me.
