Ember Locke- very bare bones. I did NOT realize this was essentially a self service hotel meaning- no room cleaning, no room trash pick up, no fresh towels... no service what so ever. I stayed there with my best friend 4 nights and five days. I had to go down to the front desk twice to request toilet paper. Each time they would only give me a single roll each time- stingy. I had to request a fresh towel twice in order to get one. There one was VERY small recycling and trash can in the room. Trash filled up very quickly. I asked the front desk where I could dispose of it and they said put it in the hallway. I did but the next morning it was still there. It took 24 hours for it to be taken away. If you did wanted sheets changed or room cleaned you had to pay for it. Each room had two cups, two plates, two forks, two very shallow bowls. The dish towel provided smelled sour. There was a washing machine on premise but you had to download an app to use it and pay (per front desk) 5 pounds each use (that's 7 USD). Soap in room lasted one day then ran out as bottle was not full. This was considered part of housekeeping and was not refilled. For this reason I didn't love it- I didn't realize that it was "self service" at the cost of a proper hotel. That said the design was cute although it will soon need a refresh by whatever firm they used.

I had a lovely stay at the Ember Locke Kensington this summer! The hotel itself is beautiful, fantastic bar and restaurant down in the lobby area. The room was fantastic and all of the staff were very kind & helpful. There's great options for food and pubs in the area & it's easy to hop on the bus or the tube to get around the city. I'd certainly recommend staying here!

My husband and I loved our 5 night stay! The area was convenient to anywhere in London and the room was the perfect size for us both. My only complaint is the bathroom - the toilet flush needed 3-4x to get anything down, the sink and bathroom didn’t drain and water from the shower went everywhere! This didn’t affect our trip at al, just something for the property to look into. We will stay here again our next trip to London!

The Ember Locke is very close to the Earl's Court tube stop, making getting around quite simple. The kitchen in our room was exceptionally well-equipped, and perfect for our small family. The staff were unfailingly courteous. The hotel is quiet and well-maintained. Be aware that the google map walking instructions from Earl's Court underground show an impossible road crossing, but you can visually spot that and correct.

I had never previously been to Ember Locke, and will return every time I'm back. A quiet, lovely retro vibe. I felt like I was in a time warp back to the 70's, in all the very best ways. Comfy bed, handy kitchen, even a washer/ďryer combo in my Garden Studio suite. The lobby is beautiful and cozy, making me feel right at home. Thank you also to the kind staff! We enjoyed our stay here. The reception area of the hotel is very pretty and has a lovely ambience. The front desk staff were always so helpful and friendly. Our room was lovely, spacious, clean and had so many great amenities. The hotel is in a great location, so close to many public transport options but also walking distance to so many lovely areas. We loved our stay here.

The rooms and hotel is exactly as pictured and such a beautiful little escape in London. Location is well connected to all public transport and there are brilliant restaurants just across the road. Will definitely be back!

Ember Locke was awesome! From nice smells coming in door/ friendly & quick ckin/great comfy lounge area/good breakfast/diningrm/cafe area/ bar! Loved our Ember Locke studio apt! Had full kitchen/sitting area/nice size bathroom/ comfy bed. Everything so compact-best stay! Stayed 11 days last year-3 this yr! Close 2 Earl’s Court(lots of restaurants/pubs fast foods/hop on/off bus. Had nice garden out back-very relaxing! George at front desk was a gem! So friendly & helpful! Next yr-we will be back!

We booked this hotel as it was advertised as a four star property. I checked the reviews before booking and people on Expedia seemed happy with the property, so I booked the family room. I was concerned with heat and noise so I made sure the property is air conditioned and I checked with the hotel to see whether we can get a garden view room but was told all family rooms were street facing. On the day of check-in we had some hiccups with our travel and were late for check in. We were contacted by the property that if we don’t check in by midnight our reservation will be released! I explained the situation and was assured we will have our room. When we arrived at the property (about 1am) we were led to the basement!!! And were told all family rooms are in the basement! I have never been to a hotel (let alone a 4 star one) with rooms in the basement. The family room was just two interconnecting rooms, so I am not sure why they are only in the basement! The room was dark, dated and unclean; one toilet paper was heavily stained! It wasn’t that they didn’t notice it, the solid toilet paper was folded in the roll!! There were crumbs on the floor and stains on the carpet. We had no option but to stay the night. Early in the morning I got in contact with Expedia to help us cancel the booking as we booked for 3 nights. We were told the room was cancelled for the two future nights but we had to pay for the one night. We stayed at the Royal gardens Kensington for the same price!!!

Beautiful hotel, friendly staff. The bed was comfortable, and the location was excellent. The bathrooms could be a little nicer- I had some drainage issues with the shower and a few bugs. But they did upgrade my room free of charge, and in general, the room was very clean and comfortable. I would stay again.

Jess and John were kind, patient and helpful. They are the front desk staff. On site laundry was great! The best part was that they held my luggage for me when I travelled to Paris for few days! The room was clean and the windows can be opened for those who might be claustrophobic! Walking distance to Earl’s court station and many restaurants and shops around. Thank you Jess and John! I will recommend all my friends to stay at Ember Locke especially because of you guys!

Staff was outstanding, incredibly helpful, warm and welcoming. The bed was comfortable, my room did not have refrigerator, which I found strange. Breakfast was worth the upcharge.
