2nd Visit Didn't Disappoint

The Junior Suite is the way to go at the Belmont. The views are amazing from both areas. (bedroom/living room) The dual sink vanity and large shower give the bathroom a luxury feel. There's seating for 6 people. (not counting sitting on the bed) It has two large 65 inch flat panel TVs and two air conditioning units, to keep both areas cool. There's a room safe for valuables, and a mini-fridge for beverages/snacks. My stay was on the 18th floor & very quiet. I did have an issue with a menu item while dining in the restaurant, but it was quickly removed from my bill and I was offered apologies from 3 wait staff members. The fitness center has everything you need to get a good workout in, including a sauna & steam room. There is also a private beach with a bar area that also serves food items. Access to the beach are included with your stay, but the food and drink items are billed separately. The staff members are extremely polite, helpful, and courteous. Highly recommended if you are planning a stay in Mactan Newtown.

Very pleasant stay. We loved the location and especially the beach/pool access. The staff was very friendly. The only negative would be the food. I wasn't impressed with the buffet or anything I ate at the hotel, but that's okay, there are plenty of other places to eat nearby. The next time we are in Cebu we will definitely stay at Belmont.

Close to the beach. Its a huge property so walking to the beach will take a good 5 to 7minutes. The location is central to a lot of restaurants. This is about an hour to downtown cebu.

Less Than Impressive Stay

Internet access and the fitness center were the high points of my stay. The property is relatively new, with new construction projects going up directly across the street. The crews were working around the clock (24 hours) during my stay. I was able to drown out most of the noise with the computer and air conditioner. The cable TV wasn't working the first 2 days. (don't know what the problem was) The first night, I couldn't get room service. (about 11:30pm) After trying 3 times (about 12:15am) I decided to go to sleep and catch breakfast at 6:30am. The front desk was unable to use a debit card to facilitate the "charge to room" option, so I had to pay for everything as the charges occurred. I attempted to schedule scuba diving with the concierge, but no one followed up with me. On night 2, I ordered a tropical smoothie at the bar downstairs. It was given to me partially full, as if someone had drank out of it. (picture below) If I didn't watch the bartender prepare it, I would have refused it. When I questioned him about it, (twice) he didn't offer an explanation. On the 3rd day, room service skipped my room for unknown reasons. I made sure to turn off the "do not disturb" light when I left the room at 11am. When I returned at 5pm nothing had been touched. Trash wasn't removed, no new bottles of water, and the towels left on the floor were still there. Since I was due to check out the next day, I didn't bother to mention it to the front desk.
This is how the bartender delivered my tropical smoothie. If I hadn't watched him prepare it, I would have refused it.

I would like to point out the stay was not over all unpleasant .the rooms were clean ,the staff were very professional. how ever there was a few things that i believe would greatly improve. 1.point i would like to offer is the water trucks, are loud and unpleasant to look at near the main entry, a suggestion i offer is to move the trucks to side were the employees were parking and run a longer water hose and also a temporary barrier to shield view and reflect noise from the main entry. that just one of many things i seen in the short time i stayed. The Staff was amazing. Everyone was so friendly. Best staff of any hotel I had ever stayed at. It rained constantly so I mostly stayed around the Hotel, and did not make it to the private beach until the last day. 10/10 would recommend.

My friend and I really enjoyed our room and the staff were very friendly. The buffet was just OK in our opinion. What we didn't like, though was how many condo vultures there are around trying to sell you condos. Even while we were at the beach, we had people coming up to us, which was so annoying because we were just trying to relax.
