The property was immaculately maintained by awesome staff. The staff are a credit to the organisation. Every member engaged with us with a smile and friendly nature to help us whenever we needed assistance.

1. Dangerous and sharp edges everywhere; uneven surfaces and broken pavements / walkways 2. Pool tiles zero nosing tiles just sharp cut edge tiles 3. No colour to indicate stair edges in pool steps 4. Food is subpar, lamb shank was so tough I couldn’t chew and returned to kitchen. Manager was notified and zero action outcome 5. Billed for every room clean as additional not in room charge irrespective whether actually serviced or not. Saturday was arrival, not serviced Sunday as we were in the room and only exchanged towels at door. Monday we checked out... billed for two services over above room rate. 6. Marriott should audit this hotel operation; it doesn’t stack up to the Marriott brand.

Great location for a relaxing break

The hotel staff and facilities are all excellent We ate at different restaurants and the quality was great. The spa deserves special mention excellent staff and treatments. The area where real improvement is needed is breakfast. It was like a scrum each morning with staff clearing your table if you stayed too long at the egg station . All of this is a shame as good quality was good

Lovely hotel. Great pools. Very nice helpful staff

Had a wonderful relaxing time. The hotel had everything we expect in a 5 star resort. Definetly recommend it as a great place to stay.

An ideal place to stay for relaxing by the pool.

Pros: Nice quiet, comfortable room with pleasant views; polite and caring staff.
Cons: Outdoor facilities, pebble paving and furniture due for revamp.
Location: Location within walking distance to yacht club, ferry terminal and shopping centre is a bonus.
An enjoyable and relaxing 4 day / 3 night stay in a comfortable resort with easy travel [flight/ hotel transfer] from Singapore. Resort gardens are beautiful and well maintained. Resort outdoor facilities and furniture are well cared for but becoming a bit worn and tired.

Great location with island views from most rooms

Pros: Location - views to islands in the archipelago are beautiful.
Cons: General maintenance, especially of outdoor furniture, such as the chairs on balconies and the pool loungers.
Location: Nothing in Langkawi far away. Westin close to the ferries to Penang, Kuala Perlis, Kuala Kedah and Satun (Thailand) for an unusual arrival/departure.
We had pre-booked a superior room with patio. Upon arrival, reception staff attempted to upsell us to a garden view room or partial sea-view room. We declined, but ended up being given a complimentary upgrade to garden view on account of our stay being so close to my birthday. Having read some reviews from people with the basic rooms, I am glad we have the garden view. The only downside to the room location is the music from the evening entertainment, but this does not go on very late. The room itself is bright and spacious, though perhaps slightly less well maintained than I would expect from a Westin (chipped woodwork, white couch not perfectly clean etc). Bathroom has both bath and shower. If you can get a booking that includes breakfast, that would be sensible. Otherwise buffet breakfast is RM99 per head. Sparkling wine is available, along with raspberry juice, should you wish to kick-start the day with a Bellini. There is tan egg station plus a waffle/ pancake station. The main, infinity, pool with swim-up bar at the Westin was pleasant. Views to islands in the archipelago are beautiful. At the beach they have canoe-hire facilities (RM16/hour for a single RM20 for a double). There is a daily free shuttle (1pm and 5pm) to Langkawi Fair, which contains local shops, including off-licence/ bottle shop and supermarket. Fixed taxi fare back to the Westin is RM10 (but do check!). Interesting wildlife around the resort: tokay geckos, hornbills, leaf monkeys and flying lemurs.

Average hotel

Pros: Hotel rooms are good.
Cons: Food should have more variety. Predominantly cater for westerners who can't tolerate Asian food.
Location: Away from all the good restaurants and hotel food is average as well.
Overall good. Food items are limited.Over the topNew years eve celebration ( don't expect to sleep till 3 a evening you have children,) with no regard to other guests.
